Didn't have tickets to this one, so just watched on TV, but I saw JD make a lot of nice plays, mostly in hitting and de-pucking opposing forwards, and repeatedly. Reminded me of Mike Keane in that way. Lots of guys lay hits along the boards, but most forget or just can't accomplish the main goal of retrieving the puck. That is Monty hockey, relentless puck retrieval and it probably necessary on any line.
BTW, saw some Jamie Benn beast mode last night, too. Only problem was he couldn't finish after a great rush.
