They do?Canucks have plenty of decent prospects already - what they need is high end ones. The 11thov represents that, and is easily the best piece in the OP. Not trading 11 for cap relief.

I would say so. There's a solid number of middle of the lineup or complimentary-type potentials, but they are missing the 1/2 elite-level prospects that you'd like to see at the top of the list, and so everyone always says "they have no prospects".They do?
In order to take barron off our hands and a b+ prospect plus a 2nd round and we take meyers, we need more then the 11th IMO
There are no teams that are struggling to reach the cap floor. None. After Tyler Myers $5 million bonus is paid he will only be owed $1 million this year, the last year of his contract. He can get an asset at that point from a team looking for a short term stop gap by and reach the salary floor.
If Vancouver retains 50% at the trade deadline he could probably get a 2nd or 3rd round pick.
Canucks have one of the worst prospect pools in the league. But they have two young superstar level players in Hughes and PetterssonSilovs lekkerimaki hoglander are all decent

Any team willing to take on Myers will do so to get a sweetener in the deal. Plus Myers NTC will limit the teams that can accommodate his caphit.

Dude has one year left and Vancouver isn’t contending for shit. 11th overall so they can miss the playoffs with or without him? That’s ridiculous. They will have his contract off the books in one season. And a good prospect they drafted at 11.How is it a hard no from VAN? Getting rid of Myers will probably cost a first or at least a second alone.

Not enoughI feel like VAN might be a prime trade partner for MTL as they need to shed cap (MTL has plenty of space), don't have a deep prospect pool (MTL has plenty of solid prospects) and could really use a young D with potential (with MTL more likely than not to draft Reinbacher at 5th, one of our young D could become expendable). So how about this :
MTL : Tyler Myers + 11th OA pick
VAN : Justin Barron + Riley Kidney + 2nd RD pick 2024
That way VAN accomplish many things:
They get plenty of cap space to maybe sign a guy like Severson
They get more quantity in terms of prospects (2nd + Kidney is highly skilled but also redundant in MTL's prospect pool with the likes of Roy, Farrell, Beck, Mesar, etc.).
MTL gets to draft Reinbacher and one of Benson, Leonard or Dvorsky at 11th (I would even try to move up again in the top 10 (a team like WAS could be a good fit at 8th) to secure Leonard or Benson).
No that's a bit much. It's a strong draft at the very top, but after that it's the same as most.11th overall this year is like 5th-7th most years.
Yup, and Montreal could use a RD, once Edmundson is moved (otherwise it's just too many bodies on D).Myers to Montreal as a cap dump could make some sense. Forget about the rest of it.
