Reading too much into that quote IMO. Sounds more like he's saying one player needs to grab a game by the horns or at least fire up emotions with a big hit or fight a la Paquette.

Yeah. Boyle has the solution too. Guys need to look in the mirror and be accountable. They all have the power to play better and change things.

I'll still disagree. I think Bish has been consistently bailing us out. Our dmen get walked on a consistent basis and I've seen more odd man rushes in the last 4 games than I saw all of last season.

We can't transition, we can't get through the neutral zone, and we can't possess the puck in their zone. The above post says our possession is fine, but other than 2 or 3 games I haven't been impressed by our zone time. Tonight I was impressed for the first 12 minutes, but then we went back to shell hockey in our own end. Detroit defense.

You're right about the offense, but with the D, I think you're remembering last year a little rosier than it really was. We haven't been seeing the huge momentary breakdowns that we had last year. A lot of that is probably just the fact that Stamkos has tightened up his game.

Our possession really is fine. The league is competitive. We're not going to pin teams in their zone constantly. Nor did we last year. Browse through some GDTs. They were pretty negative, yet we were a really good team.

Would appreciate you not bringing your logic and reason into our ***** and moan fest.

It's easy to be pretty pessimistic right now, they look bad. And even when they were bad in the past, they could still score goals. Lots of them. Hard to remember that other teams have gone through similar situations.

Yeah, we look horrible. It's just--and this is kind of crazy--not a problem with the D, but a problem with the O. Our D has really been pretty good, all things considered.

D and goaltending is not an issue whatsoever. Scoring two goals in 4 games is the issue. In those games we gave up only like 5 goals in 4 games, if you don't count the empty netters

The thing is defensively we've not been that bad, it's not like they're giving up a trillion of scoring chances per game. I'm not a big fan of time possession, it's a concern but the most worrisome is the all-perimeter-you're-being-too-cute hockey. The recipe to cure a scoring-drought is to load the crease and bury the goaltender with the puck in the net if necessary.

Ps: WTF is Flip playing the point on PP by the way ??? This is utterly stupid.

Yeah, our possession would be great if we were actually converting it into scoring opportunities, and, more importantly, second and third opportunities on the same possession. As of now, we're just possessing the puck and turning it into a single mediocre chance.

It's not like the team is unaware of it though. Coop said something along the lines of everybody is expecting someone else to be the one that goes and does the dirty work. Yzerman seems to have sent a little message of his own by calling up McGinn.

They're going to be tired today. Not just a back to back, but a back to back with an earlier start time. But I'm gonna count that as a good thing. I want them to feel like their back is against the wall. There were times last year when that was the only time we saw them at their best.

This time has had an issue of believing too much in it's own skill for a long time. We've just finally seen them push it too far.

Anyone remember the movie Major League II? Our team is very much that movie right now.
