My guess is Shero told Zubrus he was going to be sent to the AHL and Zubrus refused the assignment. That would be grounds for a mutual contract termination.

No, whatever this is, it's not a buyout.

Edit: correction, we do have a second buyout window because Gelinas and Larsson filed for arbitration. So it could be a buyout is coming.
