Vanek isn't coming here, Ignila worsens the team speed problem, I don't know enough about Radim Vrbata. Moulson I'm meh about and I don't want any part of Brian Gionta.

I would tell Marty, nobody is going to dangle the money in your face quite like us. If you want to play, I hear Calgary needs a goalie.

I'm not on the Marty team or the Cory team, but Lou has to see if Cory is the legit #1 starting goalie he traded for, and the only way to find out is give him the full time starting role next season...without anyone breathing down his neck.

We have too many average left wingers. Zubrus is expendable now. I'd trade him for whatever we can get in return. Maybe make him a (small) part of a package for a younger forward. Something like Larsson or one of the D prospects + Zubrus + 2nd for E. Kane.

I agree or trade him before he walks. Marty and Cory for another year will be a problem.

- Acquire a RW1 to put on the Henrique-Stastny line, preferable a tough, young PF who can put up 20-25 goals and play solid defense
- Bring up Boucher full-time next year to play with Elias
- Bump Zubrus to 4th line
- Deal Ryder and Brunner, try to bring back a young AHL center who can cover 4th line the next 2 years, has 3rd line upside to take over for Elias when his contract is up, and maybe can work his way into a Top6 role at some point
- Get rid of CBGB line, except Carter

I see everyone wants Lou to trade Ryder and Brunner this off season, but I dont see many takers for those two. I mean it's not impossible, but they were free agents last summer and we're pretty much the only team that went after them......and I'm not sure their value has increased this year

Trade Brunner for a 5th rounder and Ryder for a 3rd if that's what it takes. I'd love to get more, but NJ needs to open up those spots for players with more potential. Brunner is a bust and Ryder is streaky in all the worst ways.

I would trade Ryder before Brunner. I can't believe how bad he has been for the 2nd half of season to date. If we can get a 3rd round pick, I'll take it and run.

We absolutely got the show the money to Stastny. Badly need a no 1 center.

And I agree Zubrus should be bumped to 4th line duty. Bernier and Gionta should not be re-signed. Carter only a maybe.

I would love to buyout Salvador or trade him but its not going to happen given he is captain and a favorite of Pete and Lou. Their is no excuses next season, Larsson needs to be in the lineup.

At this point I think there is at least an even chance that both Zids and Fayne stay. Larsson, Merrill, and Gelinas should all be up with the team. Without being able or willing to move one or both of Volchenkov or Salvador and we could be looking at another logjam next year. The wildcard is if Lou traded for a forward to upgrade the 1st line, who from the D is sent the other way. That could sort everything out.

And, given this year's FAs as well as the next couple of years Stastny appears to be our best bet at adding a #1C. Lou has to make him a priority and has to be willing to overpay if necessary.

I agree with the opening post from today besides 2 things.

1. We need to make sure Clowe is with more offensive players whither that's on the 3rd line or not and

2. This is absolutely the year we need to start flipping our young D. This coincides with the fact that we need more than just 1 frontline player added to this team. Even if we add a Stasny, we still need another faster point producer to play in the top 6. I see that happening by throwing big money at a Stasny and making a big trade for a highly talented offensive prospect. Next year, this D mess needs to be cleaned up. No more excuses for the GM.

I think Ryder could bring a return in a trade. This guy put up some really good offensive #'s heading into this year. And with one year on a pretty cheap contract I'd think teams would be interested.

Still would like to keep Brunner. But enough of this pp point man business. Sure he has gotten a couple points on the pp recently, but it was when down near the net.

No idea how long he lasts, but he's been good. Schneid's has certainly not wrestled the job away from him. So why throw away the legend in order to get the new guy in who can't win the job straight up?

because Marty is freaking 42 years old in 2 months. Schneider is the future of this organization.

its enough already with pleasing Marty. I root for the DEVILS, not MARTIN BRODEUR. Yes, he has been OK to good the past few starts and Cory has struggled, but come on.

Remember back in 2000 when Lou had a pair and he fired Robbie Ftorek with only 9 games left in the season. We went on to win a Cup. Unfortunately, I can't see him doing that anymore. C'mon we have 14 games left with 10 at home!!! Its time to go on a run. And some of these teams that we are playing in the last 14 are terrible on the road.

I know this isn't the thread for it but since it's already been brought up, in no way should Brodeur be on this team next year. Time to commit to Schneider and move on. Enough is enough. Schneider can be here for 10+ years. Brodeur should have retired after 11-12 and probably would have had we won the Cup.
