Isles 2012

Tambellini-Okposo-Nilsson

Marjamaki-Nokelainen-Joensuu
Figren-Colliton-Volkov

Gervais-Campoli
Grebeshkov-Kohn
O'Neill-Sims

?

The only thing I'm certain on here is who will be the number 1 goalie. This of course assumes we keep everyone, as most of these guys will have hit UFA by 2012. Anyway, the forwards will be really difficult to play against, but that tiny defense will have its work cut out for it. Maybe Witt will still be around.

Here's what i see for the isles in 2012

Nilsson - (1st rd pick '08) - Okposo
Tambellini - O'Marra - Comeau
Bergenheim - Nokelainen - Colliton
Marjamaki - Nielsen - Joensuu

Campoli - Gervais
Grebeshkov - (1st rd pick '07)
O'Neill - Kohn

Washington acquires just one player from outside the system in six years. Of course, it's Evgeni Malkin :) (it could happen)

Alexander Ovechkin - Evgeni Malkin - Eric Fehr
Alexander Semin - Nicklas Backstrom - Francois Bouchard
Matt Pettinger - Brian Sutherby - Chris Clark
Oskar Osala - Chris Bourque - Boyd Gordon

Shaone Morrisonn - Mike Green
Steve Eminger - Jeff Schultz
Patrick McNeill - Joe Finley
Sasha Pokulok

Semen Varlamov
Michal Neuvirth

Some questions on defense but I like the offense.

Here is what I would do with the Bruins with no UFA, only guys currently on the team or in the system:

Kessel-Bergeron-Krejci
Kalus-Savard-Boyes
Collins-Rabbit-Karsums
Hedman-Sastny-Versteeg

B. Stuart-M. Stuart
Jurcina-Lashoff
Alberts-Alexandrov

Toivonen
Rask

Pretty tough to fill out the forwards after the Ks...the Bruins have much more depth in net and on the blue line up front.

Collins won't ever be here in 6 years, I think the guy is going to be a career minor leaguer/call up. Chara will be here longer then Stuart IMO. Im sure we will also have some first round picks in between now and then. Marchand has all the tools to be a very good checking player.

I see:

Kessel Bergeron Boyes
Kalus Savard Karsums
Marchand Krejci Rabbit
Lucic Sobotka Walter

Chara Lashoff
M.Stuart Alexandrov
Alberts/Sigalet Jurcina

Rask
Toivonen.

And that is your 2011-2012 lineup.

I like the looks of it alot from this standpoint, thats without any future 1st round stud that we draft or trades.

If I had to take a stab without adding anyone via free agency

Alexander Ovechkin - Nicklas Backstrom - Eric Fehr
Alexander Semin - Jakub Klepis - Tomas Fleishmann
Matt Pettinger - Brian Sutherby - Boyd Gordon
Oskar Osala - Brooks Laich - Chris Bourque

Shaone Morrisonn - Mike Green
Steve Eminger - Joe Finley
Patrick McNeill - Sasha Pokulok
Jeff Schultz - Sami Lepisto

Semen Varlamov
Michal Neuvirth

I'm totally not the right guy to be doing this, but basing it solely on the talent currently in our system, my unedcuated guess would be:

Rick Nash (28) - Gilbert Brule (25) - Nikolai Zherdev (28)
Alexandre Picard (27) - Derick Brassard (25) - Adam Pineault (26)
Joakim Lindstrom (29) - Manny Malhotra (32) - Dan Fritsche (27)
Kirill Starkov (25) - Alexander Svitov (30) - Geoff Platt (27)

Ron Hainsey (31) - Rostislav Klesla (30)
Kris Russell (26) - Aaron Johnson (29)
Ole-Kristian Tollefsen (28) - Adam McQuaid (26)

Pascal Lecaire (30)
Daniel LaCosta (26)

I would guess at least 8-10 of those guys are really on the Jackets roster in 2012.

It's nearly impossible to tell what a team will look like in six years, I've never been a fan of predicting past 2-3 years for any given team. The Avalanche for example only have two players still remaining from their 2001 Stanley Cup winning team. It's only been 5 years, but you can see the huge amount of turnover a team can have.

Given the Salary Cap, it's almost guaranteed that you will only see a few select players as staple to any team, for example on the Avalanche I could see Stastny and Liles being staples to the team, even in six years.

:biglaugh: here is detroit in about 6 years.

ovechkin - crosby - kovalchuk
semin - malkin - gaborik
wolski - kopitar - gagner
esposito- tavares - kane
extra: zetterberg

erik johnson - jack johnson
dion phaneuf- jakub kindl
marc staal - luc bourdon
extra: chelios

lehtonen
fleury
harding

looks like we made a couple of decent moves. and we are really going with a young team in a feaw years.:sarcasm:

What is so funny about that is your first two lines of offense, with the exception of Gaborik, will be the first two lines for the Eastern All-star team in the coming years quite possibly.

And for the Pens in 6 years, I hope we still have Staal, Crosby, Malkin, Fluery, Whitney, and Welch for our core, but I don't think we will be able to hold onto all of them.

Brodeur(if he didn't retire)
I like it, but I'm going to stay away from FA acquisitions like Stajan. (I think you meant to put Gionta on the 4th line unless there's another Parise on his way ;))

2012-2013
Elias Zajac Bergfors
Vasyunov Parise Gionta
Pandolfo Madden Zharkov (Last run for Maddolfo)
Davis Vrana Clarkson

White Martin
Hale Corrente
Fraser Greene
Eckford

Frazee
Parise

Hopefully we'll draft and develop a goalie and a couple defensive forwards by then.

Ahonen is back in Finland, he's not in the plans. Doyle looks really good but he's 26 and will be 32 when Brodeur retires. Jordan Parise, Zach's brother, put up good numbers at UND and is playing in the AHL so we'll see how he turns out. Jeff Frazee is probably the goaltender with the best potential in the NJ system but he's still the backup with Minnesota and hasn't really established himself as we'd hoped after being drafted in '05. He's probably going to be fighting for a spot on the US WJC team.

NJ will probably draft a couple of goalies in the next couple of years to try and solve the depth problems in the organization.
