Ahonen is back in Finland, he's not in the plans. Doyle looks really good but he's 26 and will be 32 when Brodeur retires. Jordan Parise, Zach's brother, put up good numbers at UND and is playing in the AHL so we'll see how he turns out. Jeff Frazee is probably the goaltender with the best potential in the NJ system but he's still the backup with Minnesota and hasn't really established himself as we'd hoped after being drafted in '05. He's probably going to be fighting for a spot on the US WJC team.

NJ will probably draft a couple of goalies in the next couple of years to try and solve the depth problems in the organization.

thanks for the information, i just want to see how it turns out in the near future

Washington acquires just one player from outside the system in six years. Of course, it's Evgeni Malkin :) (it could happen)

Alexander Ovechkin - Evgeni Malkin - Eric Fehr
Alexander Semin - Nicklas Backstrom - Francois Bouchard
Matt Pettinger - Brian Sutherby - Chris Clark
Oskar Osala - Chris Bourque - Boyd Gordon

Shaone Morrisonn - Mike Green
Steve Eminger - Jeff Schultz
Patrick McNeill - Joe Finley
Sasha Pokulok

Semen Varlamov
Michal Neuvirth

Some questions on defense but I like the offense.

AO, Malkin and Backstrom in one team?:shakehead
You would not afford this.
Then I think Sami Lepisto and Oskar Hedman could be good additions in your defence.

Kevin Bieksa (31) - Kiril Koltsov (28)
Daniel Rahimi (26)

Roberto Luongo (33)
Cory Schneider (26)

I can see Mitchell around in 6 years, but I don't think Ohlund will play for another six. good d coprs, good goaltending, alright wingers, and horrific centers.

Chris Higgins (25-45-70) - Saku Koivu (20-45-65) - Alexander Perezhogin (35-30-65)
Mikhail Grabovski (35-35-70) - Ben Maxwell (15-45-60) - Andrei Kostitsyn (25-40-65)
Sergei Kostitsyn (20-30-50) - Tomas Plekanec (15-35-50) - Guillaume Latendresse (25-25-50)
Maxim Lapierre (10-20-30) - Kyle Chipchura (15-35-40) - Ryan White (5-20-25)
*Jonathan Ferland, Matthew D'Agostini, Mathieu Aubin

Andrei Markov (10-45-55) - Mike Komisarek (5-15-20)
David Fischer (5-25-30) - Mathieu Carle (20-45-65)
Alexei Emelin (0-15-15) - Ryan O'Byrne (0-10-10)
*Oskari Korpikari, JP Cote

Carey Price
Yann Danis

= 285 Goals

i like what you did but Grabovasky will never be a 35 goal scorer, Higgins will score more then 25 this year! Will Carler ever reach 20 goals or 65 points, that's star status. Latendresse will not be playing on the 3rd line in 6 years that's for sure For the rest i like it alot

That line-up looks pretty solid, but you'd have to assume that at least 2-3 picks from 2006-2009 will be in it. Also...Crosby will be in Montreal the second he turns UFA.

Something like that. I would have no problems putting that entire third line as the second line, though.

Defense the Predators will have

Suter-Weber
Hamhuis-Franson
Parent-Klein

but out greatest strength is our having only one forward line that can do it all.

Radulov-Dustin Rose-Martin Erat

and they can play the entire game.

I've got two words for some of you guys trying to hold together these dream teams: SALARY CAP!
In 6 years, most of those guys will only have 3 years experience, so they won't be making Top-Money. Also in 6 years the SALARY CAP! will likely be much higher (hopefully 55m range)

MY favorite team is the sharks hear is my guess of the look of the team in 6 years

Michalek-Marleau-Ovechkin
Bernier-(top 10 pick center??)-setogouchi
Cheechoo-iguldan-Kaspar
Pilhal-Goc-Armstrong

Carle-Wishart
Erhoff-Exelby(Atlanta)
Spang-Vlasic

Griess-Patzold

There are alot of things different from the sharks in 6 years, look we lost Big Joe to Free Agency and we eventually signed Alex Ovechkin(YEEEAAA)Marleau we be a shark for the rest of his life...If your wondering who the guys in parenthesis are they are guys the sharks will eventually draft. Michalek and Bernier both matured and became great players..Matt Carle became a franchise defensman and Wishart shows glimpse of Chris Pronger in him..Griess becomes a awesome young goalie after nabbys contract expires or gets traded, same with Toskola..so we traded some players lost some players to free agency...So im guessing this is possible in the future

You guys make your team in 6 years.....Make sure its not outlandish and ludacris

Sharks win the cup 2 times in the next 6 years(optimistic)

REDO

Ovechkin(I really want him as a Shark)-Marleau-Michalek
Cheechoo-Pavelski-Bernier
Clowe-Fisher(Ottawa)-Setogouchi
Mcginn-Goc-Igguden

Wishart-Vlasic
Carle-Spang
Erhoff-Seabrook(Chicago)

Griess

Since we got to midseason what are your guys prediction now?

You put Ovechkin on the Sharks and then tell us not to be ludicrous with our teams in 6 years?

The one thing that does give your makeover a shred of possibility is that Ovechkin did name the Sharks as his longtime favorite NHL team before he was drafted. If San Jose is still a Cup contender in 6 years and Washington is still floundering as a franchise, there are some interesting possibilities when AO hits unrestricted free agency.

But I still don't see it being a likely possibility.

As you see the Habs are really lacking in the top-centreman department, but I assume they will address this need at some point. I just put Aubin there because he had chemistry with Latendresse in camp, so maybe something will come out of it. Maxwell is playing well in the WHL this year, but it's still hard to judge if anything will come of it.

That 2nd line is necessary, there's a reason why the Habs drafted 3 Belarussian friends who all play a different position, so I believe this line is inevitable. Only problem is that it is pure offence, so backchecking (other than from Sergei) might be a problem.

I'd be really pumped for that 3rd line. I believe Ryan White's tools will have him shift over to wing at some time, especially with Chipchura being a much smarter player (not to take away from Ryan). D'Agostini just fits that line for his style too. A good defensive line that can score goals.

Not much room for Plekanec or Perezhogin, unless either Pleks or Chips shows that they can be a 2nd line centre. As you see I don't have much faith in Juraj Mikus.

The defence is simple, I just paired an offensive guy with a defensive guy. The goalies are a no-brainer too.
