1. Cal Foote? I didn't know he had this offensive upside or that he could skate faster than Toffoli. Keep it going for FootBahl.
2. Holtz did have another board exit, turnover to center-ice play...Got to work on that, but he's really heady in the o-zone.
3. I'm a little surprised McLeod's advanced stats graph was so poor. He's been so consistently good. I hope we don't lose him.
4. CBJ announcers were pretty up-to-speed on the Devils. I was impressed with their call.
5. Where on Earth is Jesper Bratt? *takes out Magnifying glass and starts searching*

I was at the game tonight sitting about 10 rows behind the Devils bench. Vitek looked solid and made some key saves but the team looked like they did a good job keeping traffic out of the front of the net and not letting the CBJ deal with loose pucks in front of the net.

They definitely out battled the CBJ. The Blue jackets are prone to lapses for period of time and that was the 2nd period tonight. The Devils really took control after that early goal to start the period. Even without Jack Hughes on the ice it was clear the Devils are a more cohesive unit with more talent. As the young defense continues to grow and the team gets healthy I look forward to the Devils being great with better goaltending.

I attended 3 NJD/CBJ games this year. 2 here in Columbus and I was in NJ on 12/29. The raw talent that NJ has is exciting to watch for as few times as I get to see it in person.

You mean specifically Jack Hughes playing with Bratt? Bc Bratt + Hischier isn't exactly dog food.
It isn't, but chemistry isn't always as simple as just putting good players together. Still, he needs to pick his game up, regardless of who he's playing with. Hopefully it's just a rough stretch and not a sign of him hitting a wall. He's not old by any means, but he is at that age where you wonder when the decline starts.
