is Babs really putting Hyman on the 4th line?

I think the best we can hope for is Kadri's line... but I'm pretty certain he will be in the top 6 all year.

Well some people knock him because he hasn't played a full season yet. But neither has Leivo and he's pencilled into most peoples line. The guy has grit and the only other player with that is Kadri. I could definitely see him being in rotation with Leivo/Ennis

I'm honestly not buying the whole Hyman on Tavares' line thing. Both Tavares and Marner are tremendous playmakers and Hyman is definitely not the player you want trying to work with that. He can't finish to save his life.

I'd like to see Kadri reunited with Tavares on a line with Marner. Load the top two lines for bear and just let 'em rip. Brown's far more useful than just a fourth line winger and I think could easily handle a 3C role, giving Johnsson and Kapanen room to grow their game to fit a top nine role while competing for Marleau's potential replacement. And in the event, let's say, Kapanen is moved for help on D, Grundstrom could slot nicely onto the 3rd line while one of Engvall, Timashov or Bracco begin their careers on the fourth line adding skill and speed there.

Lindholm and Hyman provide skill and work ethic commensurate with fourth line expectations. Babcock can still insert players on different lines as needs must, but I'd like to see that top line given a shot for a trial run...Dream lines and such.

We won't be seeing Leivo much.
Hyman is a top 6 forward.
Gardiner will not play with Rielly.
Lindholm gets the 4th line C spot.

So that leaves maybe 4 questions. Kapanen or Brown for the 3rd line? Loser goes on the 4th. Does Zaitsev play with Reilly or Gards? Hainsey atkes the other spot. #6 D is Ozhiganov or Carrick or other? And who is the backup?

Dream? I dream Zaitsev bounces back and we keep a kid up. I love Grundstrom and see him as a Babcock kind of guy but I would add a set up man on the 3rd line. Bracco, more specifically.

*Marleau is not in the group, I understand thats impossible. His contract is terrible.
*Gardiner traded for 1st round pick, most likely 20-31 range. Leafs still retain there own 2019 1st and with the Gardiner extra 1st, use it as part of a package.

2019 1st, Kapanen, Leivo or Brown = what return?

Leafs can replace Brown, Leivo, Kapanen internally. With Marleau suiting up this year, one of them is expendable.
