Apparently someone raised that up and Stauffer acknowledge that the caller wasn't the first to note it and that "hockey people" have noticed it as well.

TBH I don't think this thread gets made without that comment by Stauffer.

Suddenly all conspiracy theories have a chance.

I actually never see Smyth passing to Yak, but that could probably just be because he's such a bad passer.

Now that I think about it, in the last ~15 games last year, Hall and Yak would do give and gos all the time as they blew past opposing defenders. The fact that Yak exploded for 11 goals that month is largely because he and Hall just clicked. So why is Hall suddenly ignoring Yakupov this year? It's all speculation at this point, and it could just be because Yak isn't finishing and Hall no longer trusts him, but where there's smoke, there's fire.

We have yet to see Eberle and Yakupov play together until this year, and no player on the team is more blatant about the "don't involve Yak" thing than Eberle. Again it's pure speculation here and I'm not trying to drag Eberle's character into the mud, but which player on the team is the biggest (and very real) direct threat to his status in Edmonton? If Yakupov becomes a 40 goal scorer, and by extension, the first line RW, which one of the 6 million dollar kids is being shipped out of town? It's not the guy that should've made the NHL 2nd year end All Star team, and it's certainly not the team's first two-way 1C in over a decade. The only person that probably wants Jordan Eberle to stay an Oiler more than Eberle is his butt buddy Taylor Hall. Again, why did Hall suddenly go from using Yak as the primary weapon on his line to not involving him in the play in a span of a few months?

Hopefully, Eberle and Hall don't think like this, but if there's even a grain of truth, Eberle needs to be shipped out ASAP.

Let me answer your final question for you. No, there isn't a grain of truth to it. You're making things up based on absolutely nothing.

Wow this is just embarassing gossip that grown men should not be debating. No wonder elite players don't want to be here its just a insufferable fishbowl.

Rumors are rumors, but Stauffer even acknowledged it. Where there's smoke there is fire.

I must have missed the quote from Stauffer saying that Eberle was purposely keeping the puck from Yak.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

There was one game where Yak and Ebs played ES together for a while and I saw Eberle in the corners refusing to pass to Yak who was decidedly not in the corners.

Hahahaha! I can't believe the behavior in this thread. It's incomprehensible.

I hereby sentence everyone to go build a deck or change their oil or do something not involving an electronic device and unfounded gossip.

Well Hall doesn't pass very well anyway, and I don't think he's played with McLovin or Eberle much, from what I've seen. Maybe it's just a case of poor linemates?

One distinctive pass that I do remember Hall making to Yakupov was the near suicide pass in Tampa where Yakupov ended up bailing out and the puck went to the wrong guy and back in the Oiler net.

There are many instances that lead me to believe that Yaks lack of success is not only a product of his defensive play. I really wish he gets the opportunity to succeed as an Oiler but if his teammates can't live with him being around, I hope he lights it up somewhere else.

I don't think they do it in purpose. They're just looking to pull off the perfect toe drag/back pass then pass it thru 2 defenders legs for an empty net goal.

I am watching a lot of Oiler games and it puzzles me why I am not seeing Yakupov getting the puck as much as he should be in the offensive zone especially in the PP. Is it just me or has anyone else been noticing this as well. If it is the case, that really spells some serious issues going on with this team and it might just be one of many reasons why Larionov will be meeting with the Oiler brass.

You my friend have hit the nail right on the head. Yes its happening as far as I can also see, and its a damn serious issue. Honestly, I can see jealousy / friction between the Canadian players and Yakupov. I actually believe the Canadian players are avoiding Yaks on purpose so as to not pad his stats, sad as it may be, possibly never unheard of in proffesional sports. They know he is so skilled and talented they would resent the fact that Yaks would turn out to be the face of the franchise.

I know if I were an elite player I certainly wouldn't want to play somewhere that had a handful of people discussing a rumor on an internet message board!

you can believe what you want, and I will too as I believe it isn't true.
you're likely just seeing what you want to see and not what is actually happening.

It's certainly not a Canadian vs Russian thing, Sam Gagner certainly has no problems getting Yakupov involved. Unfortunately Sam is kinda stinking it up himself as well. I think it's more of a Hall/Eberle are dicks issue, they aren't exactly the nicest people IRL.

There you go, you named the the 2 obvious ones, big egos with long term $$million contracts that they will never earn;) dicks for sure., and not nearly as skilled and talented as Yakupov

on the main board a couple of Oiler fans are saying that Hall and Eberle shun Yak off the ice too.
gotta love keyboard jockeys just making stuff up the likely know nothing about.

just guessing, but if Yak is serious in his religion
, he probably doesn't go out to clubs very much and doesn't drink.
so because he isn't hanging with "the guys", people think he is getting shunned.

I don't know. I just don't want to look for conspiracies that just are not there.
Maybe they don't like him praying to a higher power 3 times a day when they think the are the higher power :sarcasm:

When Stauffer, the team's puppet, says he and "a hockey person" are seeing it too, it makes me think this is more than paranoia.

You know, i kind of feel the same way.
I've been very dismissive of all this clique stuff, it has actually annoyed the **** out of me all the conspiracy theories going on around here BUT when Mr.Apologist Stauffer says that there might be something to it, that really opens my eyes to the possibility and makes me sad. Why the hell would they just shun Yak on purpose? It just doesn't make sense to me, it never seemed like they had a problem with him in the past. Why now? Is it just a lack of trust or is it something more? ****, i hate even jumping in on this clique nonsense, it makes me sick quite frankly. **** this season from hell goddamnit.
I still don't want to believe it and think better of Hall and Eberle but Stauffer not outright shooting this down really REALLY gives me pause.
