I am watching a lot of Oiler games and it puzzles me why I am not seeing Yakupov getting the puck as much as he should be in the offensive zone especially in the PP. Is it just me or has anyone else been noticing this as well. If it is the case, that really spells some serious issues going on with this team and it might just be one of many reasons why Larionov will be meeting with the Oiler brass.

I think the biggest reason is that he has fanned on so many one timers. There was a couple games at the start of the year where they fed him the puck constantly.

I don't think there is any conspiracy theory here, he just has to start burring more of his chances. Luckly he did last game, I am sure he will get the puck more.

I thought this was ******** when I first saw people talking about it (not just here, on a couple of other forums as well) but it seems like it is absolutely happening in the last two Oil games I've watched.

This could just be confirmation bias as I am not a smart man but for real, sure seems like it.

Clearly the young boys club (Hall, RNH, Ebs) are not too fond of him
Reminds me of elementary school. These guys need to grow up

I've noticed it a ton. There are literally three or four chances per game where he is in scoring position and you notice the guy with the puck look at him, but then do something stoopid like try to shoot through fifty pairs of skates!

RNH seems like too nice of a guy to be caught up in Hall and Eberle's schoolyard crap. In a Terry Jones article last month, Nuge said that he has been giving tips to Yak to get out of his sophomore slump, since it happened to Nuge last year.

I honestly think Its Hall, Eberle and maybe Schultz. The country club attitude of management is spreading down to the players. Ugh.

I noticed a couple weeks ago they don't really celebrate with him, kinda move away. Might've just been a coincidence, but it seemed like a dick move.

I know it's probably impossible to do but if someone is able to put together a You Tube clip of the other guys seeming to go out of there way to not pass to Yakupov when he's open that would be appreciated by all I'm sure, but again probably impossible.

With that being said for me the biggest culprit in all of this is Eberle. I distinctive remembered him flaking out on a few obvious passes for sure.

Perron, RNH, and Arco seem to pass to Yak when they can as well. It's mainly Hall and Eberle I'm seeing this from.

Well why would Hemsky want to make a player than can and should take his spot in the lineup looke even better?

From what I've seen, Gags loves Yak. Against the Leafs when Yakupov and Gardiner got into a scuffle, Gagner picked up Yak's gloves and stick, took them to the penalty box and gave him a tap on the shins. He also always used to tweet him last year.
Perron, arco and RNH don't seem to have a problem with him. Smyth loves Yak too and is always talking to him on the bench and what not. This seems to be a Hall and Eberle thing.

So hard to get anything concrete out of this.

Even if there is a lack of passing, I wonder if it's simply that Yak was stone cold for quite a while and completely lacked confidence. Not saying it's the right move by the other players, but if you know a guy is fighting it, you might look for other options.

Yak himself was overpassing on 2-on-1s, where he could have shot or gone for a deke, but he'd force the pass.

I think the entire team is overthinking things right now and in a serious funk.

When Stauffer, the team's puppet, says he and "a hockey person" are seeing it too, it makes me think this is more than paranoia.

Hall got frustrated at him and yelled at him on live TV, but last year Hall and Yakupov had some great chemistry. Hall wears his heart on his sleeve so I think it was a one time thing sorta like him yelling at Renney about the empty net a few years back.

Eberle seems to never pass to him though. Especially on the PP.

I actually never see Smyth passing to Yak, but that could probably just be because he's such a bad passer.

Now that I think about it, in the last ~15 games last year, Hall and Yak would do give and gos all the time as they blew past opposing defenders. The fact that Yak exploded for 11 goals that month is largely because he and Hall just clicked. So why is Hall suddenly ignoring Yakupov this year? It's all speculation at this point, and it could just be because Yak isn't finishing and Hall no longer trusts him, but where there's smoke, there's fire.

We have yet to see Eberle and Yakupov play together until this year, and no player on the team is more blatant about the "don't involve Yak" thing than Eberle. Again it's pure speculation here and I'm not trying to drag Eberle's character into the mud, but which player on the team is the biggest (and very real) direct threat to his status in Edmonton? If Yakupov becomes a 40 goal scorer, and by extension, the first line RW, which one of the 6 million dollar kids is being shipped out of town? It's not the guy that should've made the NHL 2nd year end All Star team, and it's certainly not the team's first two-way 1C in over a decade. The only person that probably wants Jordan Eberle to stay an Oiler more than Eberle is his butt buddy Taylor Hall. Again, why did Hall suddenly go from using Yak as the primary weapon on his line to not involving him in the play in a span of a few months?

Hopefully, Eberle and Hall don't think like this, but if there's even a grain of truth, Eberle needs to be shipped out ASAP.

To be honest, I haven't noticed the players not passing to Yakupov on purpose. People are accusing Eberle as being the biggest culprit, but he and Yakupov hardly ever play together unless its on the PP. And Eberle is usually the furthest player away from Yakupov on the PP, playing opposite sides of the ice. In order for Eberle to pass to Yak, he'd have to pass through all the defenders, which isn't easy to do (unless your name is Nuge). I think alot of things dealing with Yakupov is getting overblown right now, including this assumption that the young guns are not passing to Yak.
