I'm kind of hoping Klefbom sits out for a night.

I really feel like Auvitu-Gryba is actually their best option for the 3rd pairing, so I'm hoping to see that combination again.

The team looked about the best its had since opening day I thought. I liked the W against Detroit because for once the Oilers took control of the game in midstream. They've had trouble doing that. It was a close game for a bit and then the Oilers imposed their will. That was a good sign.

If LB plays well enough the Oilers should be able to get the points tonight.

I hope they finally give Pulju PP time. I'm sure that would begin to yield some goals (Jesse's shot or rebounds) and open more room for McDavid, Drai and the others. Tonight is the perfect time to stop banging head against the wall.

Surely the team hit rock bottom in St Louis earlier this week. Unlike the mirage against LV there were some good signs against Detroit. They kept Detroit to the outside which allowed Talbot to have an easy night.

How hard can it be to play a responsible defensive game against the 30th best offensive team in the NHL?

I don't have much faith in LB. Never did. He gets it front of pucks but his rebound control is terrible. If the Sabres are gonna get any goals, it's probably going to be from second chances that LB kicks out.

I was at the Washington game and LB was pretty good actually. If his D show up and have a F down low covering the slot on the rebounds he gives up, and we can move the puck up ice effectively we should be ok. Lots of Ifs, Ands, and Buts....but I think he will get the job done tonight. Team simply cannot afford to lose this one, or the next 10...
