Apparently signed with the Caps.
Sergei Shumakov signed a contract with the "Washington". The bilateral contract of the newcomer is 0.925 thousand for one season.
Fake news.

I thought CapFriendly confirmed it?
It's not there anymore, maybe CapFriendly jumped the gun...
Kinda get the feeling this may be a ploy for more $$$, wherever he can find it
All ELCs are 2-way.I thought he was basically locked in to an ELC at the NHL. Very little variance there. That said, I wouldnt think he'd take a 2-way deal. Ensure NHL time. That might be the hold up

Shumakov led the whole KHL in +/- for the 2017-18 season: Elite Prospects - KHL Stats 2017-2018How is he defensively though?
Nikita Zaitsev apparently sold Igor Ozhiganov on Toronto hard to get him to sign here.

He will get more ice time outside of Toronto
