Can't find any news on Buchelnikov. He never been in training camp, wonder if he even care about coming to NA, is it just another waste of second round

He wants to come, and has said so in interviews.

He is coming over after his contract, 25/26 season.

Saw this on Twitter the other day.

Dmitri Buchelnikov(2nd round’22) on the Russian 25 Roster. Just excited to watch this kid play some more. Hopefully he plays. I’ll obviously be tracking these games.

Sounds like the Traverse City prospect tourney is all but dead. Only Dallas is coming up this year, to play a couple games against Detroit. All good things must come to an end, but kinda sad.

I went to two of the tournaments over the years, back when it was 8 teams. I didn’t quite appreciate back then that it was the golden age of the tournament. Was pretty cool to see the number of big time hockey names around. Was a blast to see so many all in one place. Somewhere I still have programs filled with signatures, and all my amateur scouting notes from the practices and games

Red Wings’ Traverse City Rookie Tournament Down to Two Teams

Seems to me like as the camp started to be composed of teams with different intentions, it lost value. I think it was a few years ago when I noticed teams coming into town with a bunch of nothing caliber prospects who just played to make some hits. It's unfortunate, but the reality is the kids are getting more out of 99% of their other offseason camps, training, and their in-season matchups than they do from the tournament.

Some familiar names, who do they play against?
They'll play against the only former Soviet republics that are both friendly toward Russia and also have enough hockey players in their country to ice a team.

Hey guys, any word on what Red Savage's plans are for next year? Not an easy player to get much news on but I've followed him a bit over the years because let's be honest, that's a name that needs to be in the NHL.

Rated 10 in prospects by Dobber. Basically said we have no offensive stars in our pool.

"While the jury is still out on these picks, and increasingly the “Yzerplan” in general, it is clear today that Detroit has no surefire offensive star forwards in their system.

Jonathan Berggren might be the closest"

Don't agree. Also in his breakdown suggesting we should've taken Vilardi over Ras, and Clarke over Edvinsson. One I'm taking Necas and two I like Edvinsson better.

Also not mentioning Zadina and Ras were Holland picks.

They have Pelikka rated over Edvinsson. Not sure how they came around to that conclusion

Mazur outscored Kasper in GR and is ranked 4.6.

Management and team members sing Johansson's praises all year long and he's given a 2.7. Trey Augustine carries MSU and Team USA and is only a 5.0?

They gave Patrik Hamrla a 6.5 fantasy upside and 7.0 fantasy grade with his 4.10 GAA and .870 save percentage.

You can go ahead and throw that list right in the trash. Total garbage list.

Montreal can't have him. He's ours.

Seems a little sus.

"Ben Gehrels writes about emerging prospects in The Journey at Dobber Hockey and covers the Florida Panthers prospect system for Dobber Prospects. Ironically, he’s been a Colorado Avalanche fan since 1995 when they beat the Panthers for their first Cup."

Why is a guy who covers the Panthers reviewing our prospects?

I'm more interested in understanding his grading system. It does not compute.

I value these prospect (pool) rankings at the same level I value a random HF poster's ranking. They are just opinions and wrong most of the time. Same with draft rankings. And "most of the time" is a huge understatement.

where would you put it?

I mean, Scott Wheeler, who isn't exactly a big fan of how Yzerman draft's, has them at #2.
I don't watch enough hockey to know , but I know for sure if Danielson is our #1 prospect we are not so good. Still #10 is kinda low
