Roenick is spot on. Our plan is to just throw the puck along the boards and hope somebody can get over fast enough to negate the icing. Arvidsson had a ton of space when he hit the scoreboard and an empty net and just flipped it up as high as he could anyways.

Arvi absolutely could have ended it right there with an ENG.

Guess he didn’t think he had that much space or didn’t realize the net was empty

Then again Hellebuyck has let in 2 long-range shots as well.
Just get the next goal as it gives us the series tie.

It happened right as Hellebuyck was going off so maybe he didn't realize it at that point but his defender backed off. You would think he would see the empty net.

It's 6-on-5. He doesn't have a guy. He has positional responsibility for the slot and/or the backside, depending on the positioning of the center.

He was taking care of the guy right in front of Rinne. He had him tied up the whole time. What else was he supposed to do? Let him loose and focus on someone else? I don't get it.

Leaving him alone is preferable to leaving a guy wide-open on the back door for a one-timer. The latter is the highest percentage scoring play in the game.

But, keeping your feet is the most important. On your feet you can get a stick on the puck, or a skate, you can block the shot, or you can body check someone.

Don't want to derail this thread any further but I guess we just see the game differently.
