Why not headshot a Penguin every game? The league clearly isn't going to do anything about it no matter how blatant it is.
Honestly, I don't think this hit is suspendable and the Dumolin hit certainly wasn't. He pretty clearly hit the shoulder. The NHL gets the responsibility on this one. This is a guy who shouldn't have been playing, he can't control himself, he loves to injury players, and he's accomplishing it. Well done NHL.
It doesn't have to be clean. They can't besides Malkin everyone is too small. Wilson is Hawk and the Pens are sitting ducks.
The back angle pretty clearly showed that he hit shoulder. They just only showed that angle once.Predatory hit. He's got him lined up for several full strides, looks like the head is the main point of contact. This should and will be a suspension, IMO.
I tell if I’m biased but it LOOKS like his shoulder was the point of contact, directly followed by his neck
However, he left his feet
Targeted the shoulder, hit the shoulder but also the head. Should be a penalty at the very least.
That said, keep your head up and it’s harder to hit.
You can’t just lower your head every time you have the puck to make yourself impervious to bodychecks
I actually kinda like this idea.1. What would people think about an "intermission review" whereby a player can get ejected from the game (with no man-advantage penalty assessed, simply an ejection) if the refs review video of the hit and determine that the wrong call was made? Not saying that would be the case in this instance, but I think it would not only give the refs the ability to admit their mistake within a relatively short time-frame, but it also might de-incentivize refs from hastily throwing players out for clean hits. The ability to evaluate during intermission would make them less trigger-happy in instances in which they really aren't sure.
His head was up at the very end. It was down which is why he ended up in the train tracksHis head was very clearly up
