The NHL gets the responsibility on this one. This is a guy who shouldn't have been playing, he can't control himself, he loves to injury players, and he's accomplishing it. Well done NHL.
Honestly, I don't think this hit is suspendable and the Dumolin hit certainly wasn't. He pretty clearly hit the shoulder.

His head moved with his body and didn't snap opposite of it, indicating that the main point of contact with the shoulder. There likely will not be a suspension. If you haven't yet, watch the official NHL video from a few weeks ago to see what they're looking for with these types of hits.

Predatory hit. He's got him lined up for several full strides, looks like the head is the main point of contact. This should and will be a suspension, IMO.
The back angle pretty clearly showed that he hit shoulder. They just only showed that angle once.

Targeted the shoulder, hit the shoulder but also the head. Should be a penalty at the very least.

That said, keep your head up and it’s harder to hit.
You can’t just lower your head every time you have the puck to make yourself impervious to bodychecks

I tell if I’m biased but it LOOKS like his shoulder was the point of contact, directly followed by his neck

However, he left his feet

His feet are planted when the hit is initiated. Simple physics explains why both players are in the air after the hit.

CHOO CHOO!!!!

Wilson did keep his hands, this wasn't a flying elbow or anything. Issue is yet again he thinks every hit has to be a kill shot. Solid body contact does the job, someone needs to tell him that.

He's so desperate to destroy ZAR that he leans in for no reason. That had the making of a solid clean check, but ended up not being that clean.

There is a grand NHL conspiracy to keep Tom Wilson, the overrated 4th line useless grinder, in this series.

He has a way of always hitting the head with alot of speed but its always so damn hard to say if its an illegal hit or not because he also hits the body.
The NHL really need to decide if they wanna get completely rid of these kinds of hits or if they dont mind them. Both are ok but now we are somewhere in the middle where we are "told" they will suspend headshots but very few of the headshots are actually headshots in the eyes of the league so its just a big mess

1. What would people think about an "intermission review" whereby a player can get ejected from the game (with no man-advantage penalty assessed, simply an ejection) if the refs review video of the hit and determine that the wrong call was made? Not saying that would be the case in this instance, but I think it would not only give the refs the ability to admit their mistake within a relatively short time-frame, but it also might de-incentivize refs from hastily throwing players out for clean hits. The ability to evaluate during intermission would make them less trigger-happy in instances in which they really aren't sure.

2. Tom Wilson = Ivan Drago.

I actually kinda like this idea.
His head was very clearly up
His head was up at the very end. It was down which is why he ended up in the train tracks
