Re : " I would still take Marleau, Nash, Perry, Iginla over Marner, Hyman, Reinhart, Verhaege for PURE wingers. "

Interesting. Actually made me think.

Perry is a winner - with a capital "W". Marleau with the speed - also a winning pedigree. Iginla is a winner but less so. That may be the difference.

Not sure what Marner, Hyman, Reinhart or Verhaege have ever won.

Marner - 2016 OHL championship, OHL player of the year, Memorial Cup championship, Memorial Cup MVP

Reinhart - 2015 World Juniors. Canada's leading scorer

Perry's accomplishments alone exceed those.

Over time, hopefully, the new player's accomplishments will also be very impressive.

Seth Jarvis does NOT get enough love.

22 years old, 70 games in 2023/2024 - 26G, 30A, +14

Been saying his name a lot for this lineup.

Probably Marchand's replacement for 2026 as I don't think it will be possible to make a point that Jarvis is inferior by that time. Marchand is declining at this point and Jarvis is about to go prime time.

Samuel Montembeault has all the skill to be Canada’s #1 goalie for years to come. Have been watching Habs games and he’s a top goalie in the NHL, just plays in front of a bad team.

Alexis Lafreniere with a 4 point night - 2G + 2A.
For all the doubters, as Eminem once said...

(LAF HATING) Posters wanna post like they got somethin' to say,
but nothin' comes out when they move their finger tips,
just a bunch of gibberish,
And the M.F.'ers act like they forgot about
LAF !!!

Like ALL of us, I was at Easter Mass, so I missed LAF's 3rd goal. It's a shame.

Anyway, good for him. Well earned and well deserved, young LAF. :thumbu:

LOL.

Have you ever written a post that you thought was CLEVER and WITTY but then NO ONE even gives it a "Like"???

^^ That's what happened with THIS post. ^^

It's the ONLY rap lyric I know and I twisted and turned it into a wonderful HF hockey reference. A "gem", if you will. And I've been waiting to post this for a long time.... Months... YEARS!!!! Waiting for LAF to break out so I could zing all the doubters. Finally, I get my chance and....

Sid with his 38th and 39th goal. LOL. He amazes me.

Mason McTavish back on track with his 19th.

I am NOT a fan but Suzuki is so good - his 31st and 32nd.
How would you keep him off the team at this point?
