Not really sure what you were watching all year man.
Should be called the Atkinson thread. Quietest 40 goals in the league this year.Atkinson finishing 6th in goals with 41 is pretty bonkers.
To be fair, the man is pretty quiet, doesn’t garner a lot of off ice attention, and plays in our small market down SouthI keep saying that.
Honestly I feel like he had the least talked about 90 point year ever. Lol

Huberdeau is a good answer but Atkinson takes the cake.
Thought Mikael Backlund had a pretty underrated season for the Flames. He receives almost zero notoriety for what he does. But for a 2nd line center who plays almost exclusively as a shut down specialist, he had an incredible season at even strength. Put up 0.56 even strength points ppg which is right up there with guys like Kessel, Johansen, Teravainen, Skinner and etc. Also ended up with as a +34 which is tops among forwards in the entire NHL.
Possibly, but Backlund was also not playing on that unit for a lot of it. I remember that unit consisting primarily of Bennett, Neal, Ryan, Brodie and Andersson. If our 2nd pp unit wasn’t total ass, he likely breaks his career highs in offense.
Then, how he was labelled as a bust. He's got it now.Man I remember how hyped he was at one point after the draft.

Alex DeBrincat 41 goals, 35 assists, 76 points, a buck over 17 minutes avg ice time / game
- from 30 & 40 (50) goal scorers he had the least ice time per game.
He did get plenty of ice time more what to his rookie season; from 14 minutes to 17 minutes,
next season hoping for at least 20 minutes avg of ice time.
- it would be foolish not to expect 50 goal, 90-100 point season from him
From the sophomore's, Alex was by far the best,
1. DeBrincat: 76 points, 2. Connor: 66 points, 3. Barzal: 62 points, 4. Dubois: 61 points, 5. Strome: 57 points
