Great point in the instagram comments pointing out the irony of George Parros lecturing the best defenseman on the planet on how to body check.
I'll say it again: One of the softest calls in 30 years of NHL hockey. One that will be remembered and debated forever. I'm not going as far as to imply the kingspiracy stuff here but for whatever reason it happened and it's very disturbing.
It's not a Kingspiracy, it is the fact that Vegas doing well is good for the league as a whole as the further solidification of that fan base bodes well for the future of hockey in the desert.
League dumped a franchise in the desert that had not won a first round playoff series since the 80s and watched them continue to not win a series until 2012. Last thing they want is another Coyotes situation on their hand. Toss in the fact that the Raiders will be there soon and it is imperative that Vegas build a fan base and maintain it.
That's nothing against their team. They have a good team, obviously. League set them up for a better expansion team than the last entrants to the NHL because of the market they are in. Will it work? Well, it is so far but winning will make it work anywhere. City has hockey fever and a deep playoff run will lead to even more continued excitement.
As a fan of the sport of hockey and US hockey, it is a good thing in the long run. As a Kings fan prior to Game 2 without Doughty, it is complete and total bullshit that the team I put so much time and money in to is being bent over for the greater good of the league and the sport.
