Chargers are in the endzone.

Staley challenges the spot and wins. 4th down.

Chargers need to be thankful every day that Oregon ruined Herbert's draft stock that allowed them to get him.

Ok, maybe ruin is too harsh. As he just got more refined for the Chargers. But still, so lucky.

Amazing what a super intelligent small receiver can achieve over a bigger faster player who isn’t as smart.

Plays he has made tonight, stopping a fake punt, great move on the td, he caught a pass down the sidelines to make it 4th and short because he knew where the sidelines was and that he was short of the first and got every inch.

meanwhile there are players who don’t know to get out of bounds in a 2 minute drill cause they try to make a move for an extra couple of yards when saving time is more valuable.

Both home games vs Dal and now LV feel like road games for the chargers.

they really need Herbert to lead this team to multiple successful seasons to turn the tide to get a home crowd in the coming years. Can’t be up and down. Need to build that following.

Huge missed FG. Can the Chargers do something positive offensively now?
When down 21 you can’t afford to not put it into the end zone on each possession. Like seattle 2 years ago vs GB. Down like 18 at the half they score TDs on their first 3 possessions but on their 4th they end up with 4th and 10 at mid field but opt to punt with 3 minutes to go but never get the ball back.

now it’s score and recover an onside kick which is hard to do.

but credit to the chargers HC for having the guts to go for it plus being able to take advantage of a mismatch with cook on a LB to get the 4th down conversions.

raiders meanwhile continue to struggle in short yardage situations.

Too big a hole to dig out off. No margin for error in the second half. Can’t stall a drive and attempt a long FG. Have to figure the opposition will get 1 score in the second half.

missed Ruggs on a big play inside the red zone. Would have made the game interesting. Would have been 3 minutes and change to go with 2 TO left. Trust the D to get a stop after giving up a long drive? Did they have anything left? Odds of a onside kick is like 10%.

probably have to kickoff. And play the odds.
