This is what I will never get about James Franklin, year after year of losing to OSU and Michigan, you know you don't have better players, you know in a straight up game you aren't going to win with out some breaks. You get a 4th and 1, yes in your own half and early in the game, you punt and they march right down and score 7.

At some point you have to take risks to try and get an advantage. You can't play so conservative or Michigan will just grind you down with the better players.

Penn State gets the ball so I don’t think it’s a big deal. Besides, if they get it, they can keep kicking field goals.

Commentary hitting the notes there though. Allar is not a runner, but you better be anything you need to be in this game. The offense and play calling coming through in a spot they absolutely had to.

I know I just said he can't play conservatively, but not sure going for 2 there makes a lot of sense at this point in the game. Especially after you were so weak in punting earlier.

VT needs to win 2 out of their next 3 to make a bowl

Up 31-7 today.

NC State is going to be tough.

UVA is a 2 win team.

May as well go for it. If you fail, Michigan only has to drive 45 yards instead of 80

Celebrating that punt when Michigan will just run it down your throat taking 7 minutes off the clock and making this a two possession game is one way to show your level of ambition in this game.

Michigan has to punt so it works.

If they go longer down the field and score it works. If they just stall out like they have it just kills what little time they have.

How many times are they going to have a chance to extend drives or even have drives to extend?

Punted from their own 46 on 4th and 2 so they could kill 3 minutes and end up with a 4 and 13 from their own 25.

No guarantee they get the 4th and 2 but almost 100% guarantee they aren't scoring a TD from their own 28.
