Considering the lines tonight are Greening/Spezza/Stone and Kassian/Smith/Condra, I think MacLean messed with the lines a little.

I know. The point is he should NOT mess with the lines

Crosby can play ''centre or LW'' - where would you play him?

You don't mess with Greening - Smith - Condra. Condra and Greening have just started to get going

Why not? PM changes the lines all the time, the other day everyone wanted Greening, Pageau & Condra because of what they did in last yr's playoffs. Stuff happens week to week with this team, it's the 4th line, Condra has been a no show in a number of games this yr, he is replaceable.

Greening and Condra have always had good chemistry together. Considering Stone and Kassian are both playing, Greening and Condra should be the 3rd line. Smith >>> Pageau so far this year. G - S - C should be the 3rd line. They've played EXTREMELY well since Neil went down and Condra took that spot. It's not just one game.

A little consistency, please

Story of the season. As soon as they get momentum in one way or another, coach comes in and kills it off mercilessly.

The Turris is the Turris line.

C - Z - M has been pretty great together since Zibanejad replaced Spezza.

The Smith line has been great since Neil got bumped.

4 straight wins with these 3 lines. Why mess with it? Neil and Spezza have been crap all year and chemistry killers. If they must play, put them all together on the 4th line and keep the real players together.

Ryan started with Spezza.

It was messing with the lines the combo of Mac/Tur/Ryan was found.

Sometimes you gotta try stuff out.

Yeah, thats what the start of the season is for... experimenting and really finding the combos you want to go with long term. Ultimately though you want consistency and for guys to feel entirely comfortable and cognizant with their line-mates. We have 2-3 lines we know can really click, and those lines should be disturbed as little as possible. Now its just about finding a Spezza line that works.

Agree

Although if we want Greening going good with anyone other than Condra it is Spezza. Maybe we even see Greening-Spezza-Condra working if those two lines are juggled

That's unfair to Smith though. He's been amazing lately.

Maybe Stone-Smith-Neil works well, who knows. A couple years ago most people thought Greening-Smith-Neil would be a great line. You can't predict chemistry, but if we do have to shake up the lines I would rather do it in a way that has had chemistry in the past (ie Greening-Spezza)

Greening-Smith-Neil is too much of the same

Spezza from 2 years was good enough to make Greening go. New slow sluggish Spezza I don't think will work with Greening. The plays dies with Greening too much. Spezza is just not good enough at possession and taking pucks back at this point to play with Greening imo.

Greeening and Condra should not be split up. They just get each other and play amazingly together. Whoever their centre is less important. They were only tried briefly with Pageau this year and Pageau sucked at the start of the year so it didn't work. But it works with Zibanejad, Smith and good Pageau, that we know of. Would probably be fine with Spezza and would be amazing with Turris.

You're over reacting. Just because Greening may start with Spezza and Stone doesn't mean he'll play the bulk of his minutes there.

Kassian is going to get 5-10 shifts tonight. We're going to see Greening back with SMith and Condra at some point. We're going to see other wingers with Spezza. Like usual, someone is going to get double shifted to eat up the minutes Kassian won't be getting.

THis isn't an EA NHL game, line combinations switch on the fly all the time.

Still, that means less G - Smith - C (a lot less). Which sucks.

Spezza is why we can't have nice things
