Quarterfinals: Top 4 in each of the two groups
Relegation: "The overall bottom ranked two teams" – I interpret this as the two nations (regardless of groups) with the least points goes down.

The NHL playoffs begins the May 1st. So no early PO-exit reinforcement. The NHL season ends on the 27th April so the guys will have to fly in with short notice.
The AHL playoffs begins on April 21st. The first round is a best-of-five series that could be over in three games. I guess in time for Nicklas Jensen or Frederik Andersen to join Team Denmark if it should become relevant.

I doubt we see Nicklas Jensen and Frederik Andersen on the team even if their AHL teams doesn't make the playoffs. I would assume that they would be called up as black aces during the parents clubs play-off run.

Hasn't got a Danish passport as far as I'm informed. Played some U18 WC for Russia after leaving Denmark so I guess it's not likely. Dunno if it's possible actually.

AFAIK, not impossible, but very unlikely at this point.

1) He would have to obtain a Danish passport. Given that he grew up in Denmark and has strong ties to the country, then maybe he can apply for one after living in Denmark for two years. He could get around this by playing for Malmö or Rögle while living in Denmark. Starkov was able to apply while living in Gothenburg, but only because he was getting an education at the Frölunda hockey high school.

2) IIHF rules states that he has to play in the Danish league for 4 years before he is able to switch nationalities in the eyes of the IIHF. That is not likely to happen, so he would need an IIHF exception from this rule.

3) He has played in the U18 WC for Russia - an official IIHF sanctioned tournament - so he'd need an exception from this rule as well to be able to make the switch.

William Nylander was able to get an exception from the 4-year rule, so it is not impossible. Nylander had not played for another national team though, so that definitely complicates matters. Like Nylander, Trukhno has obvious ties to the country he'd be switching to, that is the kind of thing the IIHF would be looking for if they were asked to rule on the matter.

Fun fact: Trukhno actually received personal financial support from Team Denmark before deciding to play for Russia at the U18 World Champs...

One last thing: I haven't heard anything from Trukhno stating that he would be interested in representing Denmark.

In the warm up games against Russia (bringing a good KHL team) Denmark started with a reasonable defeat of 0-3.

Russian goals: Mikhail Glukhov (2) & Alexander Pankov from Atlant Mytishchi & Salavat Yulaev Ufa.

So hopefully they can stay tight, so they don't get run over in the second game today as they did in the second game against Finland.

I don't know, in all honesty I really want us to give Norway a good, CLEAR spanking first to really show who's boss!

But I agree, the X matches against Russia, have given a little more hope..
It all depends on our NA guys, which as of now does not look good

Even Freddie Andersens team is making a crazy run for the PO's.

So to be 100% honest, im stille betting on a huge fight to stay up, which is going to be very difficult.

I don`t want to kill your hope,but las year we also won russia in an exhibition game and eveyone thought that QF`s were a guarentee now and well it ended not the way everyone hoped.. and russia won the WC

Oh no danger of that. We just got hope that we might not be relegated. I don't think anyone thinks about a QF right now, based on what has happened in 2013 so far.

yup small steps,first make sure you dont relegate(points wise) and THEN you can even start thinking about QF`s It`s basically same for us too as we both are in different groups we can wish eachother goodluck (except,you know, if we dont meet in finals )

Yep because we both need it if we want a shot for the WC 2017.
We will also be "blessed" with a Scandinavian championship since Sweden, Norway and Denmark are in the same group.
You can have the East Baltic championship with Russia and Finland. So lots of prestige

You mean east of Baltics or East Baltics as the latter would not make sense as Baltics are located in North( sorry,just nitpicking )
But yeah winning Russia would be great they are for us the main "rival" if we lose so what,theyre stronger but if we WIN then we can rub it in their faces for looong time

OK North East Baltic for Russia and North Baltic for Finland and Central (almost North?) East Baltic for Latvia.
Even the Baltic Sea itself have compass directions though it's all "the north" in Europe.
Denmark is Baltic....just southwest Baltic.

If I were a top athlete I'd want to go up against(And perhaps become) the best in the world given the chance. The best in the world aren't at the WC. Just sayin'
