i honestly thought this song was by an old R&B group

The Young Rascals were big in 67 and 68. Always on the radio

But in 67, THE song was Light My Fire/Doors/7 minute version on AM radio at the McDonald's on Kirkwood Hwy. and Main Street.....good old Newark, DE. The station that played it the most was WLS out of Chicago or WKBW in Buffalo. 20 radios; at the same time....GTOs, Mustang GTs, Plymouth GTXs......at ~10PM on a Saturday Night blasting this up unto the cops came.........Vietnam really heating up, getting ready for senior year in HS, what did we know was going to happen in a couple years......we already had Detroit burning. I guess the Young Rascals were here to cheer us up......

didn't know he passed..tons of good songs by him

egads.......had not thought of "This Guy Is In Love With You" in a long time, not by Burt but by Herb Albert and the Tijuana Brass. It was No. 1 on the Pop charts in May-June of '68; No.1 when I took Jane P. to my senior prom; I gave her a copy of this song......really sappy isn't it? But what the hell I was in "love" with her........
