Big weekend for waivers. Teams will be cutting down to final 23 man roster by Sunday or Monday.

Red Wings are shallow up front and should be closely monitoring all discarded players for upgrades.

Surprisingly there have already been 4 claims made this pre season. Could be active during final cuts.

Wings have early wire priority.
Hopefully a forward (Center) falls in our lap.

Players on waivers today include Sonny Milano (1.1M).
Not much else of interest…

Red Wings Witkowski and Renouf have also been waived.
Lashoff and Murphy officially cleared today.

We don't really need to acquire anyone up front, unless it is someone really interesting, as we are already likely to see one of the kids get sent down that should make the team. As far as that goes, I would rather they sign Tyut and let him play, then picking up waiver scraps.

Still no guys from Seattle...

I want a guy FROM SEATTLE !

I hope they will f*** up with a guy like Jeremy Lauzon and he would be exactly what we need.

They should always pay attention to waivers... but honestly, I don't see anyone of note trying to be snuck through who are an actual improvement over anything.

Other teams will certainly cast off better players than Gagner, Rowney, Stephens, Namestnikov and Smith. I have no doubt on that.

We’ll see if the right fit comes along.

Alex Barre-Boulet waived by TB. He'll get picked up for sure and I wonder if we'll put a claim in for him?

I think the Red Wings have 5th or 6th priority (depending on where Seattle sits). I'm not sure he makes it that far.
