zero agility
zero puck control (unless you skate in a straight line of course)
delayed passing and shooting
automatic right thumb-stick dekes whether you want them or not

Just an all around fail by EA to make anything resembling fun, they somehow managed to slow down the pace even more of the fastest game there is

I think they dumbed it down to make it less QC. However, it is like a micro-soccer game half the time with people bunching. Puck are hard to get thru traffic, but if you can cycle and play against user goalies it's still easy enough and fun to play.

Also, finishing games with 80+ hits as a team

EDIT: As someone working two jobs, the whole lack of progression keeps me on a level playing field (I didn't even get Legend 3 in the last two games). So, I hear what the naysayers have to say about customization and progression. I would prefer to be able to customize but for the simplicity and class system (similar to other games) I can deal.

Progression was fun, but I never had time to get myself to Legend. I'd like to see it return, but in quicker form.

I play as a dman, so getting to Legend was much more difficult than as a forward. So I won't complain about it going, but I did like the accomplishment of leveling up.

Alright so here are some of my short thoughts and it matches up with a few of what you guys have said so far.

It feels pretty much like pee-wee hockey at the moment. Players can't hold on to the puck from the slighest bump or if an opposing player gets near them. I had a stretch in a game last night where 11 straight times up the ice and down both teams skated into the zone only to lose the puck essentially upon entry resulting in the puck going the other way.

The boards are DEAD. Even on dump ins they just die and there is no kick back. Trying to pass off the halfwalls is essentially pointless. Which I like to do at times.

The skating feels like you're a 747 turning and when you're trying to control the puck at any time of speed good luck.

Overall it's an enjoyable experience and I haven't ran into any hardcore glitching teams. I know they're out there because some of the top teams have like a 46% shooting percentage which is ****ing absurd. That's always the key in these games though. It's fun playing teams that play legitimate hockey but the second you play a gltich team it's a ****show.

It really comes down to who you're playing with, and against

If your teammates more or less understand their limitations then they'll make quick passes, cycle, and get open... you know- do what they're supposed to do

If not, then you just have to hope the opposing team is just as clueless

Overall it's not THAT bad, but EA definitely has some work to do before full release, I think they've focused a little too much on the 'play as a team' thing, because at this point it's near impossible to effectively play as a single player

Teams shoot higher percentages on user goalies. Most games against CPU goalies my group averages 2-3 goals a game. Against teams of 6, we usually can get a bunch of goals because other teams just cluster****.

To comment on the halfboards/deadboards....I'd rather that than the alternative which is the NHL 15 dump the puck in and watch it bounce in front of the net.

I am not a big fan of EASHL. As long as Be A GM doesn't suck again, I'm cool. The draft, no AHL, no real waiver system, no LTIR, etc.

They made adjustments....

EASHL Beta Gameplay Tuner:

Lowered AI faceoff attributes.
Lowered Power Forwards shot accuracy and chance to intercept the puck cleanly to make up for their strong puck control.
Lowered success of the standup goalie to cover the top of the net when in the butterfly.
Lowered strength of protecting the puck. Players will still absorb hits in the right situations, but it will lower the threshold of the strength of the collision to cause the player to stumble.
Lowered balance on all classes slightly to go hand in hand with the lowering of puck control strength when protecting the puck.
Decreased friction on boards to help regular passes kick around easier.
The goalie will favor the shooter more, taking away the short-side but will be more vulnerable to cross-ice passes as a result.
Lowered AI goalie speed moving across for passes.
Less goalie error on slower pucks on net towards their 5-hole.
Lowered AI goalie aggression to come out and play the puck and chance of flipping the puck over the glass.
Lowered goalie passing/shooting speed.
Decreased player controlled goalie speed in core movement (T-pushes and full butterfly pushes) to make them easier to control.
Lowered speed of goalie passing the puck out from their glove when they are covering the puck, and raised the ability for a near opponent to intercept it.
Increased player controlled goalies ability to make saves near their body when they are cutting off the angles, and decreased ability to make saves when they are back on the goal line and forced to reach out to the edges of the net.
Added a fix to prevent faceoff spamming from working.
Reduced wrap around success for shooters to be more in line with the player controlled goalies ability to get over.

Well that actually addresses most of the issues I had with the game. However they didn't do anything with the skating and actually DECREASED puck control so thats pretty terrible.

It's nice that they extended the BETA to Monday. I have enjoyed playing it so far. Obviously there are some issues but it's a BETA so I'm assuming the final version will be much better. My only real problem with it so far is the turning.

Why can't Seguin or Benn or Malkin or Getzlaf or Thornton or Ovechkin or Tavares or Voracek or Backes or Kopitar or Datsyuk or Doughty or Keith or Weber or Hedman or Karlsson or Subban or Lundqvist or Rinne be on the cover? Why do I have to look at stupid intangibles on the ****ing cover again? We have had 3 Blackhawk covers in like 6 years, and none of them are even the best player on the Blackhawks. What the ferk?

This looks like it's gonna be the new cover since it's on the background/header of their twitter account.
