It would be kinda like the Penguins trading Malkin for Thomas Vanek and the seventh overall pick in the summer of 2007.

Kinda makes sense at the time, but in the end, you bet on the elite talent.

No disrespect to Boeser, who is a heck of a player. Vanek has been a top 10 goal scorer over his career.
Just for the record, Brock is an elite sniper and talent

Eichel for Horvat, Boeser, and Pettersson might get us thinking. So no this one isn't even close frankly. Teams go decades without getting a player like Eichel, he's an absolute freak.

Buffalo just won the lotto draft, how much of an elite talent is Eichel if his teams hasn’t improved at all, they actually have gotten worse since drafting him, you can keep that type of “elite talent”
Haha ok we will gladly keep him thanks.

Mackinnon is a hart candidate this season and last season they were way worse than this years Sabres. It's a team game.

Ahhh, however, you have forgotten that the Avs sucked while they had Duschene, the break out came after he was traded, and, to be honest, I would take Nathan over Jack too. And, like you said it’s a team game, except, Buffalo keeps sending off their good players for “bad attitudes and cancer in the locker room,so, when they suck again next year, which player becomes the “bad attitude “ scape goat, maybe Eichel, maybe this years draft pick? Who knows, but, if Jack is what you sell him as, it’s sounds like his leadership maybe lacking if he can’t rally the troops on the team. It’s starting to sound like Jack ma be Phil Kessel 2.0, loads of talent, no leadership

Jesus Eichel is the most overrated player in NHL history. He has a 10 mil contract and hasn't hit ppg yet and he's turning 23.

He's not in Matthews McDavid tier. Stop pretending.

He would have to hit 90 points per year for that contract to be worth it.

In fairness to Evgeni Malkin, he had two 100+ point seasons & a total of 304pts in his first 3 years in the league to Jack Eichel's 177pts: on average, that's 42pts more per season.

Boesers value isn't even close to eichel. Boeser is a one trick pony.

Im sorry but even though both teams decline OP proposal your counter has to be sarcasm. Im not denying Eichel is a stud but he's not worth that package sorry.

I do believe Eichel had a temper tantrum a year or so ago about wanting better players or some kind of commitment to improve the team before he signed his last contract, which is fine and dandy, however, isn’t a “generational star” like Eichel supposed to be able to make the players around him better. How’s Buffalo looked since he signed the latest contract? Oh ya, your picking first overall as a result of yet another horrific season, I’m not saying he’s the worst player ever, however, he sure isn’t a great leader

To ge fair there was much more ooen play pist lockiut. If eichel played in the 055/06 or 06/07 he likely be very close to those numbers.

Dear God... what is the matter with you? You can't seriously believe this. The Sabres had 2 NHL quality defensemen last year. Kinda tricky for Eichel to do a whole lot with the puck constantly pinned in the Sabres end. Sheesh man.

Eichel's not going anywhere. Buffalo struggled for years without a franchise C. We did everything to make sure we got one. We're not trading him.

Summer of 07 they were saying the same thing about Vanek.

Yeah and Vanek was an elite talent. So your point is moot. We have no idea how Boeser's overall career will translate.

Boesers 16% shooting is definitely sustainable. And his 62% ozs on a bad team isn't sheltered at all. And wingers are definitely more important then centers.

Boeser will always have a high shooting percentage during the duration of his career. That's what great goal scorers generally classify to. You have no idea what you are talking about when it pertains to the player and how bad his linemates have been when Horvat was injured.

Canucks pass on the offer.
