When did weegar/Morrisey/towes sign their contracts. Things change every year and cap goes up. Eg. Should forwards be held to Drai's 8.5 too? Because he is in for a massive raise. Or pasta used to make 6.5. Comparing old contracts with new ones doesn't always work.
I get the feeling there's a lot of people commenting without actually watching him play this season.

For one he's fully healthy and h e's not stuck on a shitty defensive team where Seider has not progressed much if at all and maybe worse with Hronek gone. And sure Quinn has been huge for him but Hronek has been great for Quinn as well. Even if they eventually split up 7.5-8 million with a 90+ million cap sooner than later is perfectly reasonable for a high-end #3.

Wings fans made a thread saying hes better than Quinn when he was their guy, now that he's not while playing even better it's all Quinn. No bias there

In the words of the virgin Mary, "come again?"

Seider has been deployed in a shutdown role that he's great in, is given the most difficult assignments for Detroit while being relegated to PP2 so the Wings can get their moneys worth out of Gostisbehere, and he's not progressed?

Moritz Seider - Fantasy Hockey Game Logs, Advanced Stats and more - Frozen Tools

Are Jeff Petry and Olli Maatta better than Seider and Walman because they have a better CF/CA against Vegas? Or were they just the beneficiaries of mismatches because Seider-Walman drew the tough assignments?

I wish I could find the site that has the forwards they play with the most as well but I'd venture a guess that 5v5 Seider plays a good chunk of his time with the Veleno and Copp lines on the ice. It doesn't seem like he's out there with Larkin/DeBrincat/Raymond as often as the lower lines.

Was his great point run start of the season a fluke?

last 10 games 0+0
last 27 games 1+10 (which 1+6 came from 4 game point streak)
- so from last 23 / 27 games; 0+4

got 26+ minutes of ice time in his last game
He did the same thing with Detroit last season as well going on a huge tear to start the year then cooling down.

He is what he is and it’s not a bad thing, just a really good 2nd pair guy who can get away being a top pair D.

Not sure why this thread is still going. Both teams got what they wanted.

One team got their very much needed top 4 guy and the other got great value and a highnejenD prospect that fits better in line with their timeline

FWIW, he’s still been playing like a top pairing defenseman. Points just hasn’t come.

His lack of points might truly be the best possible thing in terms of shaving off potentially ~$1M or so. The way he played at the start of the season, he was easily looking at Sergachev type money.

With the watt he Cap is going up he’s probably still looking for a $9M number. Remains to be seen if he can get it though. Interested to see how he does his first post season
