Askarov is born !

Wow, great game, heartbreaker for US, but the Russians deserve alot of credit for hanging in there. Their 2020 guys look great.

USA top players carried the team the whole tourney. Not enough secondary help in the end.

Russia's turning into a bit of a goalie factory.

I still can;t believe the US lost. This is up there, if not greater than the bolts being swept in Rd 1.

Opens the door for the Canadians

Huge upset

I thought Hughes was average. There’s something about his play. He seemed passive today . Everything he does is fast and fluid, but he seems to lack edge or a certain urgency with his play today. Hes so smooth and fast that’s obvious, but he seemed rather bland.

Not sure how to describe but it’s there.

Cozens haven’t had the strongest tournament. Most of his scoring came in one game. But he is stepping up when it’s needed the most.

One kid that certainly haven’t impressed much is Thomas Harley. Big, slow and making bad decisions with the puck.

Newhook is my new crush for our 2nd first, but there is no chance we get him without moving up.

And podkolzin stinks
Not fair to judge someone on a single tournament. He’s ranked top 10 for a reason. Imho. Haven’t seen him just got info from this board. Would you take him at 21? Or 37?

There are many reasons why Podkolzin was considered 3OA at worst through at least the first half of the season. There’s a reason SKA zeroed in on him - they could’ve gotten after and obtain any prospects they desired. Podkolzin was among a bare handful of 2019 draft eligible prospects participating and didn’t look out of place. In fact he looked better than Svechnikov a year before. Podkolzin will be drafted in top-10, if he falls out teams that did try to move up to get him will regret it.

He was in the top 3 because he murdered the hlinka in spectacular fashion and didn't look out of place at the U20 considering that he was a draft eligible player.

Hes going to get dinged for A. Not being overly productive during the season over seas and B. Not producing at the rate you'd expect a high end player to in his age group. Most teams picking in the top 10 are looking for players who are at most, 1 and done (1 year in the CHL/NCAA/Euro League, etc. and then NHL ready), Podkolzin has 2 years left, maybe more.

Your A and B are the same? And teams in top10 first and foremost are looking for an impact player, how soon they will join maybe a tiebreaker only if your organization judges two prospects to be virtually even in all hockey related aspects.
