Are some of these to fill out Bingo`s roster

Aaron Johnson , Guillaume Lepine, Carter Camper, Brad Mills , Nick Palmieri , and Brandon Wong .

Aaron Johnson seems to be the best of those 291 NHL games

Aaron Johnson & Carter Camper were signed to play in Bingo but the other guys are all invites. I think Bingo will have enough players but they may be trying to find a gem out there or fillup the Indiana ECHL team.

Interesting that Vincent Dunn (who has signed an NHL contract) wasn't invited to the main camp. I'm glad to see both Nick Paul and Ben Harpur invited and hope they sign their ELC's soon - they look like really good prospects.

Nick Palmieri's an interesting guy, he was a decent prospect and is still only 25 with 13 career goals. I wouldn't mind him getting an AHL deal

That is kinda odd. You'd think they'd want to give him at least a few days at main camp. I mean, that roster listed is gigantic right now....they wouldn't notice one more body there.

Same with Perron. Kid should've earned a spot with his play int he rookie tourney.

Parts Unknown
I read that he becomes an unrestricted free agent after this year.

IIRC, as long a we keep tendering him (sending him a contract offer), we own them until he gets his Group 3 UFA rights (27 years old or 7 pro seasons).

I don't think he will qualify for Group 6 UFA next year, because he will not be coming off of a SPC. That's my best guess when reading the CBA. Maybe there is an unwritten understanding between the league and the NHLPA for it to apply to non-NHL Standard Players Contracts as well?

Unless there's something that I haven't seen, to get Group 6 status, you need:
1) to be 25 or older (Da Costa qualifies here)
2) complete 3 or more pro seasons under an NHL contract (Da Costa qualifies here as well)
3) play under 80 NHL games as a skater (once again, Da Costa qualifies)
4) have an expiring NHLPA contract (aww... so close!)

It's that last part that leads me to question whether or not he'll be a UFA. In fact, if you read the CBA part on Group 6 UFAs (article 10.1, (b), (i)), it seems worded specifically so that players CAN'T get UFA status by playing overseas while not on a Standard Player Contract until they hit the last qualifier (27 years old).

... I mean, this is all probably moot because I don't see a scenario where he returns to play for us, and we seem like the kind of organization that would "do right by their players" and figure something out for all parties involved, but I'm just saying that as far as the legalese is concerned, I don't think he qualifies for Group 6 specifically because he left the SPC "contract system". Group 6 seems to exist specifically to reward players who stick it out in the NHL system, not to help guys who go play in another league.

I've been wrong about things before, and totally could be wrong about this. I'm just calling it the way I see it.
