Re-examining the remaining UFA list here in mid-July there are now slim pickings remaining that can be categorized as the following:

1. Veteran players waiting to sign team friendly deals or contemplating retirement with specific franchises: Patrice Bergeron, David Krejci, Eric Staal, Zach Parise
2. Players presumed to be asking for way too much money: Matt Dumba, Vladmir Tarasenko, Tomas Tatar
3. Players who are injured: Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews
4. Big guys who can't skate: Ritchie brothers, Jujhar Khaira
5. Various troubling personalities
6. Former good players at the end of the string

I wouldn’t be opposed to bringing in Pius Suter.

Gives us a more offensive option for 3C, wonder what the cost would be.

Pretty good.

Honestly it's Tarasenko and Dumba depending on the team you have and your cap space.

Some decent utility bottom 6 guys though like Nosek, Motte and ZAR

Bear is interesting if you can wait but falls in that injury category too.

Comtois would be a terrific, no risk addition for our roster.

From what's being reported over the last few days, it does seem as though there is some potential risk re: Team Canada World Junior 2018 team.

That's 100% it, no one wants egg on face.

Although Mete must have a rock solid explanation or something.

I wondered when McLeod wasn't qualified by NJD if something was up.

Your Worst Nightmare
I have the 4th line like this..

McMann - Lafferty - Reaves

It creates a crash and bang 4th line. Lafferty has a lot of time at center ice at the NHL level. McMann is no longer waiver exempt.

I see 3 young 4th line players that play with some grit that could knock McMann out of his position on the FA market, while keeping the player coming in relatively young, all 3 are 24. McMann is 27 and inexperienced, while these 3 have plenty of it at a younger age.

Max Comtois
Mason Shaw
Noah Gregor

Whether they play on the wing with Lafferty at center or Lafferty shifts to wing and one of these guys occupy center ice it creates a very physically imposing group. I would imagine a league min one way deal gets the deal done.
