Well the consensus for trading Cally at this point is probably close to 100 percent on this board....

He's pricing himself out of sympathy from a fan base that idolized him for years and generally looks the other way on most of his mistakes. He's probably also pricing himself out of any sensible team.

His agent is giving him the impression that he's worth only the absolute stupidest contract that the most desperate, short-sighted teams will sign him to. It's his right, but he's going to end his career on a deadbeat team at this rate, unless of course he's willing to sign a more reasonable contract somewhere else and just doesn't want to be a Ranger in particular.

Yeah, and even as recently as a month ago it was probably more like 80/20 in favor of resigning him and Girardi, or at least thinking neither would be moved because of the standings.

I guess anything really can happen after all. :D:p:

Rangers would be worse if they traded Kreider for Tarasenko straight up.

Seriously sick of seeing his name here every ****ing day. He's not even the best player we passed up on in that draft.

Yeah, but the entire board was talking about Tarasenko and Ryan Johansen for months leading up to the draft. We're never letting Tarasenko go.

That isn't the first time we have heard Stewart + coming back in a deal. What else are they willing to give is the question.

Other teams have the same concern Sather has with the Olympic break. Give up assets and risk not having him for an extended period if he gets injured. This is going down to March 5th.
Would love to hear what the + is. I hope it's more than just the Oilers 2nd. Would want a prospect or the Stl 2nd as well.

Speaking of high 2010 draft picks, Burmistrov is having a solid KHL season, if the price was right he could be a much younger, cheaper solution at 3C than Legwand.

If he SERIOUSLY is looking for that price than Sather better trade him ASAP cause his value will drop fast as the season moves on, and knowing our luck he will break his ankle in the olympics.

Man, I've been all for giving him up to 6x6, but now he's just being stupid.

Any chance he's stripped of the C?

We didn't want to keep Dubi @ ~4m, but getting Stewart @ ~4mil in return for Callahan is acceptable/the best we can get? Granted Stewart's contract is up at the end of next season. Is Stewart the only readily available player out of STL or..? If so, I think we should look elsewhere. The homer/uneducated cap situation/contract situation person in me thinks we could get a better return than what's been floating around lately. If that's all we can really get for an unsigned Callahan (not this package, but Stewart+1st/2nd or whatever it's projected to be), might as well bite the bullet sooner rather than later, after this club inevitably airs out all its dirty laundry regarding everything that's gone on with Callahan.
