What about Alexander Burmistrov? Apparently he is in the dog house with the coach. He is a highly skilled lefty shot. I would love to add him to our team.

Pominville is exactly the kind of player we need, i really cannot fathom why Buffalo wants to part ways with him. He would be a tremendous replacement for Parise both in terms of production and leadership, assuming we aren't one of the eight teams on his no-trade list (i can't see why we would be) i certainly hope Lou kicks the tires on acquiring him.

Pominville - Henrique - Kovalchuk
Elias - Zajac - Zubrus
Ponikarovsky - Loktionov - Clarkson
D'Agostini - Carter - Bernier
Gionta/Kostopoulos

Our forward group would once again be one of the deepest in the league, incredibly solid third and fourth lines with the right amount of high end talent in the top six.

I wonder what Buffalo would want for him though? Surely if they're selling Pominville they're looking to get some picks and prospects in return; perhaps they'd take Tallinder back too considering his previous chemistry with Myers and the fact Regehr is likely to be moved at the deadline as well?

Maybe a deal around:

To :devils

Pominville

To :sabres

Tallinder
1st Round Pick
Merrill / Severson

Surely that would get the ball rolling at least? Tough price to pay but i'd do it for Pominville.

ehhhh i think thats slightly too expensive. make it a 2nd, and get rid of severson and i think id be ok with it.....maybe. we cant really afford to **** around with our first rounders. or lack thereof.

I am still hesitant to trade Merrill to be 100% honest.

likewise. i really am excited about our defense consisting of big daddy lars, gelinas, merrill, severson, greene and player X. lets say i dunno...urbom.

i didnt include fayne because im sure hes traded.

Right now, Pominville is a decent Parise replacement. Jon Merill is playing minor league hockey. It's an easy choice for me.

This isn't very well thought out. Merrill could be a STAR! I'm all for dealing prospects for proven players but I just wouldn't deal him. I guess I just like him a lot but he's the one and only prospect I wouldn't deal.

Hypothetical question. Would you rather trade Matteau? Or this years first rounder? We'll undoubtedly be drawing a lower pick this year, but as has been said maybe they will be another bust while we've already got a good look at Matteau.

Yandle would be amazing. He'd immediately become our #1 D-man. Are the Yotes seriously shopping him? I find that baffling, they still have a shot at making the playoffs.

If we have a shot at Yandle we should definitely inquire. I'd give up a *lot* to get him, he's worth it.

Pominville would be nice, but he's only signed for one more year and hasn't been good this year. He had a down year in 2011-12 too. Who knows whether he'd return to form or not. I wouldn't risk much for him. Let some other team overpay for him.

Vanek is obviously just a pipe dream - I only hope that he doesn't end up with one of our division rivals. Hopefully Buffalo ships him to the West.

if we could deal offense before any of our defensive studs, then im all for it. would i trade matteau? ehhhhh if it was worth it yeah. lets say a deal for yandle was hinging on him being included, then yeah i would. add to the defensive smorgasbord.

I'd rather deal Matteau than a 1st. He looks like he can be solid but nothing special. There's a lot of talent this year I'd rather keep the pick.

Flyers have traded Harry Zolnierczyk, which led me to the question, "Who is Harry Zolnierczyk?"

That's quite a bit of value for Pomnville. Tallinder is not worth much to us right now, but could net a second round pick based on the trades we've seen.

So, a 1st, 2nd, and Merrill/Severson for Pominville? Sabres just might have to take that.

Gotta give to get unfortunately, plus i'm sure he'd draw a lot of interest around the league. Pominville would be a perfect fit for our team after losing Parise and instantly make us into a contender again.

Hypothetically, I'd offer Fayne, Josefson, Clarkson(Matteau) and a future 2nd. Vanek is almost 30 + he is injury prone. If Lamoriello was really going to go 110% "win now for Marty".
Zubrus-Loktionov-Kovalchuk
Vanek-Henrique-D'Agostini
Elias-Zajac-Ponikarovsky
Bernier-Carter-Kostopolous

Yeah. I wish. But that lineup could seriously contend with a team like Pittsburgh. A great blend of trench soldiers (Ponikarovsky, Zubrus, D'Agostini), 2 way guys/playmakers (Zajac, Henrique, Loktionov), skill (Vanek, Kovalchuk, Elias) and then the crash, bang, boom 4th line.

What about Gionta?

Give me Pominville!

Columbus would probably give a **** ton for him right now after what the GM said today. But you gotta assume CBJ is one of the 8 Pommy wouldnt go to

Pominville is so underrated it's not even funny. I like Merrill too but it addresses a big need without touching the current roster.
