Before knowing what we gave up, I liked this deal.

I like Boyle as a player and think he'll work well as a vet here.

He scored 20 goals six years ago but Boyle at 32 can't play that far up the lineup. He's a pure 4th liner. Not impressed with the club at this stage going after rentals, because they aren't winning anything this year. They may be hoping to keep him around as a UFA signing and this will give them a leg up. Anything more than a 3rd is an overpayment.

Guess this explains why the Bolts wanted McKegg
