He played with one of the best assist men in recent memory in Thornton and that is not going to be the case in Toronto. I would love for him to succeed but i don't see it.

He'll be playing on a team with a new top assist machine, Marner.

It's possible. But why risk losing a core player like Gardiner in 2 years for a 40 year old Marleau?

Do you seriously think that our management would take a risk like that? No chance, they no exactly how this (the cap) is going to play out. Now, does Marleau perform up to standard? Who knows, but given the chance with the offensive forwards we have, i think i like his chances.
