I was thinking about the same thing. Obviously, we are not getting a decent pick back for Andersen now. So, if Freddie gets traded, there's going to be salary coming back, or it will be 2021 draft picks ..... ooops, and free agents (almost forgot).

Once we made our 1st pick and lost that draft capital we were not fixing our D at the draft.

Watch for fa moves to fix the D.
Slow play might be the play too. Nobody knows what the schedule will look like next year if it happens and cap space and CASH is king.

Did you ever stop to think that maybe there was no deal to be made with 15OA? Maybe rival GM's were asking for the moon for certain players. I'd rather keep the pick than get a crap player for the sake of making a trade...

Free agency hasn't even started so just relax.

Dubas, more than any prior GM, really seems to troll those guys. You read stuff like LF23’s comments and then a short while after Dubas actually does make something happen with that pick.

Or maybe one of the selections becomes another Sandin/Robertson.

2021 is no good from G/O for draft ... maybe worst year ever ... not saying there is no diamonds in da rough but much easier to pick winner in top 3 rounds this year ... but Dubie clearly a Euro drafter and ignored Canada when we had a boatload to offer up in 2020 draft ... not gonna be popular for him with sponsors/fans ... for a guy who appears pretty bright he seemed to miss da fact that most of us want to see our kids drafted by Leafs ... oh well he is young and may learn da hard way back in Soo

There’s always a steal in the 7th round, keep trading back until you draft the entire 7th round.

Reminds me of what I used to say to people wanting a rebuild. Trade Kessel for picks, then trade those picks to move back in the draft, then repeat with the rest of the roster. Sign as many UFAs as you can, draft the entire 2016 5th through 7th round.

Hopefully we see some upgrades on D in the coming days. If they don’t deem it a priority to address long term at the draft table, can’t make trades because the right partners never materialize, it only leaves the free agent route. Can only kick the problem down the road only so long before you trot out a Marincin again.

I am happy with these moves. We got much better value with the trade down and one is a centre. Hirvonen and Hallinder (earlier trade) help us develop a little more depth at 3C going forward.

Ya, we seem to like drafting Russian players these days.

Not sure what G/O means.

We eventually have to address it. If not we never win a cup and that's just the way it is.

For what it's worth, Pronman had both guys the leafs drafted with these picks (#59 and #64) in the top 15 on the board at he start of day 2. If you're going by his board, its tremendous value. Obviously there's a lot of boards out there, but you gotta choose (or make) one. And you could do a lot worse than using Pronman's board.
