The only reason sports gambling hasnt been legal is due to political abuse of power. Namely, important Nevada politicians like Harry Reid were using all their might to prevent it, thus keeping Nevada as the only legal sports gambling destination in all of America.

Meh I dont mind them legalizing sports betting at all.

I thought it was quite a stupid reason to make it taboo 25 years ago.

Thank god a Judge with some COMMON SENSE took the the Federal Govt to the woodshed and finally...FINALLY..did away with a law that is(now "WAS") unconstitutional.

Oh sure the Govt will scramble and try to make another law that CONTROLS Gambling....but the point is that Gambling in the U.S.(in other states aside from Vegas) will finally happen.

I don’t really gamble too much. I’ll throw $20 bucks in a slot machine and cash out before my entire $20 is even burned up if I’m not winning anything.

But I feel the same way about it as recreational marijuana use, which I do not partake in.

I'm not much of a "gambler" but I'd be WAY more inclined to drop a $20 here and there on a hockey or football game. I never understood why it was illegal anyway. Stupid. Same with weed.

I actually missed the entire game.

Got home like 5 minutes after it ended. I was out doing my usual Monday night routine.

I flirted with a girl at a convenience store that I've seen a few times about 12-15 minutes from my house. Unfortunately, it all started from asking her about where another girl (that works there, who I've had my eye on) was.

''Where's the cute girl at?''.

Thank god she actually answered back with ''I'm standing right here'' and not ''Who are you talking about?''. So I didn't have to spill the beans or look like an idiot for refusing to to spill them. Because I wouldn't have.

All this sports betting stuff got me thinking, I almost forgot about it but my uncle went to jail for 3 months in the 70's after getting caught up in a numbers racket. He was a cook at the place they went to hang out and bet that got raided. They took care of my aunt while he was in, money and such, movie type stuff lol.

I'm genuinely curious why the TaN exists and there's a whole separate OT thread for entertainment (Which I avoid for the most part).

At least in here, a conversation flows sorta naturally (I was talking about nerd culture, someone responded about anime, conversation turned to anime). Kinda awkward and tedious to, if I wanted to continue that conversation, go to a whole other thread with a whole other dynamic to continue it.
