Lou has this tendency to use words that I know very well and are easy to understand... but place them in an order and a context that I can't ****ing comprehend.

Louspeak, indeed.
Whatever, he could speak in nothing but grunts and shrieks and I wouldn't care.

We're a better team today than we were yesterday. That forward depth is something we were missing last year IMO. If our top 2 lines weren't clicking...we didn't score.

I'd love for Volch to get traded and bring back Zids on the cheap to complete a very, very nice signing period but if we stay pat...that's fine as well.

From Chere's article

"He's a pure goal-scorer. We've seen enough of him with Montreal and Boston. We feel really good about that," general manager Lou Lamoriello said.

Lamoriello said he is ready to take the heat for his five-year, $24.25 million signing of forward Ryane Clowe.

"You can look at it any way you want," the GM said. "There were a lot of teams involved and we wanted to get it done right away because there was no other player out there like him. He makes everybody in the lineup another inch taller.

"I know what the perception might be. I'm not worried about that. I know when you're putting a team together how important the pieces are. Certain players' value is more important to the team than it might appear or than statistics. I have no problem with the criticism because I understand it. But I have no problem with the player."

Barch should not be sent down, but he's an option.

It should be Tedenby or Olesz.

But by no means is Gionta safe.

No way Gionta goes down. He's earned his spot. Great PK:er too.

He will go down if he gets outplayed. He's a hard worker, but he can't rest on his laurels having earned the spot. Now he will have to work hard keep the spot.

We look like a playoff team on paper and that's all I can ask for as a Devils fan. The playoffs are a crap-shoot.

We definitely do. Schneider alone should get us close, and adding the extra scoring will get us in. If we can keep Zidlicky or introduce a young defenceman to take over his role, I think we can do some damage.

TGfireandice: Lamoriello said there were "moving parts" that would determine whether they will add anymore through free agency.
