He's maybe slightly better, but I generally agree with the premise. Both should be solid 3rd pairing and PK minute eaters, nothing more.

I love it. It’s so bad but the Rangers are so desperate to create “traditions” that they’ll never get rid of it and it only sound worse and worse as time goes on.

I think it's probably closer to a wash than anything.

Greene might be better during the first 30-40 games of a season, before he gets cooked by playing about 4-5 minutes more than what he should each game.

This is pretty much expected of goalies in the game today, and he never does it. The defensemen generally stand a foot or two off of them, and the goalie is expected to block/deflect cross crease passes with their stick.
