Demko will be an RFA after this season. He is only 25 and likely getting a big raise.

What do you think the canucks will be resigning him for after this season in terms of dollar amount and term of contract?

What would a possible offer sheet look like from another team?

VAN has $25.7M in cap space with EP/Hughes needing new deals, likely $8M each. Doubt he'll earn more than Holtby - $4.3M. I believe they want to leave some cap space and offer a Bridge deal - $4m @ 2 years.

5 years $22 million. $4.4m cap.

Breaks into two contracts.
$3.5 x 2 for the RFA years. Flat cap years.
$5 x 3 for UFA years.

If Demko signs more than a 1yr deal he goes to UFA I believe. The Canucks will want to avoid the 2 year bridge. My guess is the Canucks are goint to try to get all of EP, Hughes, Demko on ~3-4 year "bridge" deals. They will use Boeser as a precedent in negotiations and try to press on the advantage the team will have in contending if they have more to spend elsewhere.

He has been incredible lately. Something like a 1.55GAA and 0.95% his last 8/10 starts?

It will be interesting. 3 big contracts coming up.

Dim Jim has left himself zero wiggle room living “day by day” as he so eloquently put it. 23ish Million to sign Petey, Quinn & Demko. It’s gonna take some real skill to fit them all in not to mention fill other spots.
At leSt Benning didn’t sign an aging and not good any more backup to a second year at 4.3 million, which will limit his options in extending Demko.

The “Seattle will take the 2nd year of Holtby but oh wait he sucks and they won’t and if we’d done our homework we’d know there’s gonna be way better/younger goalies available” plan.

I'd say 4.9 mil for 5 years. If we can't get rid of Holtby, buy him out. He only counts for 0.5mil against the cap next season, and 1.9mil against the cap the following season where we have tons of dead space opening up. We then bring in a back up for 1mil or so, or bring up DiPietro.

The Canucks cap isn't quite as bad as people think, and it's on the rise over the next couple of seasons.

Isn’t demko one of the best goalie this season and you think he’ll sign for less than 5.5?

In short term, it absolutely is. We've wasted prime ELC years due to awful cap management. You're right though, there's light at the end of the tunnel, assume Jim doesn't clog it up with another Sutter/Eriksson deal.

As for Thatcher, long term ~$5m would be great for the team.
