It's hard to say anything positive about that one, it was a 2 flusher.
What I hated is how we rolled over, no fight no push back.
Very soft team last night that is all.

Well that was a hard game to watch. You could tell from the drop of the puck pretty much the entire team wasn't ready to play.

I'm not enjoying Connor’s game right now. He has some indecision and tentativeness, he's not really attacking the defense with speed.

I'm not going to beat up on the kids but Perfetti and Heinola were pretty awful. For a guy who's strengths are supposed to be passing and exits , Ville looked very Niku esque. You'd think a kid who was dissatisfied with not making the team out if TC would have a chip on his shoulder but I see someone who's still not ready for prime time.

I do think he needs a few more games to see if he can find his confidence but they really need to put him with Dillon.

You can't pin this game on Helle but that definitely wasn't one of his best outings.

Wheeler was pretty awful, and Dubois didn't do anything really to shift momentum.

I think we need to make a more drastic change to the lines.

Perfetti Schiefele Eyssimont
Connor Dubois Fjallby
Maenalenen Lowry Wheeler
Harkins Gustafsson Gagner

Looks a bit wild but I do belive in the pairs philosophy in forward line composition, and Fjallby and Eyssimont have been working so hard they deserve a promotion of nothing more than as a reward. I also really like Eyssimonts creativity. You can see he has some offensive knack.
I don't know if we have any solutions with forwards who have been through waivers already this year, and there's 4 of them on the roster.

I'm not a big fan of splitting up Scheifele and Connor. The best offensive chances the Jets had in the 1st came from those guys. I like having the 2 best players together.

I still like having Perfetti with Dubois on the ice.

I'm getting very tired of Maenalanen with Lowry. He's negating Lowry. I think of the one shift where the Jets with Axelsson-Fjallby and Lowry get the puck in deep and Maenalanen just blindly throws it to the front of the net on the cycle with no one there. Rest of that shift was spent defending.

I might try something like

Connor-Scheifele-Wheeler
Lowry-Dubois-Perfetti
Axelsson-Fjallby/Gustafsson-Eyssimont
Harkins-Toninato-Gagner

No matter how you configure the lineup there's a lack of talent beyond 3 stars, one rookie, and an old Wheeler. Lowry is absolutely cold right now, and apparently ill too. I'd like to see him getting a chance to move up the lineup, because Gustafsson is showing increasingly an ability to play against the league's best players, and play well.

I also think you have to realize that a less talented team like the Jets are going to struggle on the road, because they don't control matchups. Keeping games close gives them a chance, but Minnesota is sort of the nemesis for the Jets. Tougher team, well structured, and as much as Bowness can talk about team toughness, the Jets aren't in any way as tough as the Wild from top to bottom. Luckily that's only one team, one that the Jets are still ahead of in the standings.

I wonder how much of a distraction it is for the guys from Minnesota playing there. You hear Samberg had to get 40 tickets for this game, I imagine the other guys are the same, then you have family and friends who want to have dinner and such.

Instead of taking the captaincy away from Wheeler, the Jets should have made him player/coach. Fire all the assistant coaches, they are not making the players better.

She was a great good luck charm with a great rack. I think she got booted out of political correctness to keep the dwindling number of females on the board from leaving.
Hey, don't hold back on my account.

I only get one vote but if you want to post sexy good luck charms go ahead. I'm porn positive as long as it's not degrading and anything I don't like I just ignore. We exploit boys' fascination with our bodies all the time so of course there's going to be unwanted consequences. But objecting to it is about as stupid as sneaking into the boys' locker room and then complaining that it smells really sweaty. (Yes, we did it once.)

This place has a boys' locker room feel which is half the appeal for me. Some of the comments in here are brilliant and funny and some are so stupid you wonder how guys can find the keyboard. But it's all fascinatingly masculine and I'm not going to stomp off because something is offensive. I'll probably leave because of boredom or time constraints or this foxing laptop has died again.

So post all the good luck charms you want. I can't wait to see all the photos of Axel in a speedo at the pool that you've been saving up!

I'm always in favor of more scoring -
But I'd think the biggest issue is consistency in how they play - scoring doesn't just come from adding more players that can score - it also comes from convincing the players you have, to play the right way.

Don't be surprised if the priority is on getting the most from what we have, over adding players.
I'd assume they are also looking at filling a gap or two - but does it really matter if the teams top layers are struggling with the message the coach is preaching?
I’d argue showing up like this has been pretty far and few between but the lack of forward depth has been static all year. This team still really seems hesitant to drive the net.

I was gonna suggest posting a pic of "4th Line Fabio" beside her to even things out for the ladies (and @Jet ).

I'm sure the turn over that lead to it was part of it but yeah our former captain does it right infront of our net leading to a tap in goal and he's still trotted out there.

Edit:

I do wonder how long a shelf life Rick will have here if he's already throwing players under the bus and benching them. I get that it was a real poor game but it was one game on the heels of about three weeks of very strong play. I get not wanting the team to fall back into bad habits but every team lays some stinkers.
I already don’t like him. He is already reverting to favouring vet’s, riding them Into the ground and Questionable bench decisions. A lot of the Dallas fans were warning us about him. The same way we warned Florida about PoMo. I really wish we didn’t spend all our time trying to get Trotz and focused on getting a good up and coming coach instead of these recycled has beens.

I disagree with you wholeheartedly, which is ok.

Or purest scorer is Connor, abs he went from being snakebit, to imo losing confidence. He's not generating much. Why no pot him query the guy who helped him almost score 50?

Wheeler on the top line is an awful idea. Everything is dying with him right now

I usually never complain about reffing, but this game was terrible for "no calls" against the Wild. I guess the refs must be American, and want to give out a Thanksgiving gift for the holiday. Lot's of highsticking "not called":dunno:

Would not have made a difference tho, as the Jets deserved to get blown out.
Go look at scouting the refs website for last nights refs. Corey Syvret #23, one of the refs, has officiated 5 games for Minnesota this year and they have won all five of those games. Coincidence?

Probably? Jets also got away with a high stick, Dubois absolutely should have gotten the extra in a post whistle scrum but it got evened up. Refs didn't have anything to do with the Jets losing that game.

The increasing belief in this world that everything is a conspiracy is getting really tiring.

I mean the first goal against Carolina came off a Wheeler pass right up the gut. Last night he set up Perfetti point blank and Perfetti missed his chance. I would say that's an overly harsh criticism of Wheeler.

I'm not sure guys like Eyssimont or Axelsson-Fjallby are going to make as many plays as Wheels does. It's not like they have more talent. Puck retrieval ability is only a limited talent.

I guess if the goal is to get Connor scoring more Dubois centering him makes sense. But then Scheifele-Perfetti have generated nothing, but trouble. Seems like an inverse problem, where you might stop Scheifele from scoring by giving him the inferior winger. Perfetti doesn't create space in the offensive zone like Connor does buzzing around.

Maybe it's worth a shot though.

I've been advocating for a "Fancy Axel" GDT in response to all the salacious comments about poster's wives being ready to cheat with him if given the chance. Maybe that could be our new good luck, and wouldn't offend against political correctness since apparently those comments about AJF were all good.

The top two lines didn't play much if at all in the last part of the game. I think sometimes there's a balance between benching and having to have players to send out to actually play.

I would hope that the players aren't so sensitive that they take a benching in a 6-1 game as such an affront that they check out like Scheifele did.

I don't think Scheifele checked out because he got benched. He got benched because he checked out.

Not quite. I think she got booted because the good luck wore off. There was a PC element too, but it was the losing that finished her here.

I think you need to review the difference between conspiracy and bias.

Nobody here, that I recall, has ever claimed a conspiracy among referees. But there are some referees with a strong bias and if you look at the long-range statistics, it certainly shows.

And not all biases are for/against a team. There was an analysis done about a decade ago by a kid getting his master's in stats and he looked at an interesting question: after a goal is scored, which team gets the next penalty?

I don't recall the exact number - and I can't find the damn article - but in something like 80% of the time, the next penalty is called against the team that scored last. And according to the gobbledegook of the kid's thesis, this was way beyond the laws of random chance and showed a clear bias by referees.

Today we call that game mangement. But statistically it shows that referees usually show a bias. Not a conspiracy, just a bias.
