Mikeyg: We never had a anti-nylander agenda in Sweden, not sure about what's going on in Canada though, what are you referring too?

William is a true celebrated star in Sweden now and Leafs is a popular team too because of our legends Salming and Sundin playing for Toronto many years. It's fun witnessing the raise of the Leafs and it may be a cup winning team pretty soon. Extremely frustrating that neither Salming and Sundin won a cup... it hurts and this fact may have caused some frustrations in Sweden vs the Leafs with me being one of them.

Personally I follow my favorite Swedish players in the NHL but I care less about the actual teams. It's fun with classical teams like the Oilers and Leafs finally starting to look good again.

People in Sweden not liking William or questioning his talent was very, very rare before WC and is probably super rare now. Only question mark for me was his strength and the physical aspects of the game but it looks like William is working really hard during the off-seasons and looking better year after year. Considering his age he is simply great.
Ohhhh I don't know about that, I hope its true, but like I said, there have been a lot of garbage, unwarranted comments coming from swedes in the gdt's. I'm pretty sure a lot of it is associated with anti-leaf bias though.

From like 3-4 posters on this forum. Wow, such an agenda from a whole country.

The swedish fans on this site have never really had s problem with Nylander only like two people who badmouth him constantly, the problem has mostly been with some of the casual fans who aren't really that passionate about hockey and really just want something to be mad at.

Why would Swedes have any anti-leaf bias? That's the most stupid thing I've heard in a long time.

So did we, these among others:

Alexander Steen - Alexander Wennberg - Jakob Silfverberg
Daniel Sedin - Henrik Sedin - Filip Forsberg
Marcus Johansson - Mikael Backlund - Rickard Rakell
Henrik Zetterberg - Mika Zibanejad - Gustav Nyquist
Carl Hagelin - Patrik Berglund - Patric Hörnqvist

Hampus Lindholm - Erik Karlsson
Oscar Klefbom - Adam Larsson
Mattias Ekholm - Niklas Hjalmarsson
Niklas Kronwall

Robin Lehner
Jacob Markström
Why did you leave Viktor Arvidsson out? Guy put up 31 goals + 30 assists for 61 total and he also had a +16. You also left Burakovsky out, and he's at least better than Hagelin.

I agree about Arvidsson but Hagelin vs Burakovski is a tough one I would say.

When Hagelin is at his best his unique speed is very valuable for any team. Hagelin unfortunately had a rough year this season though, injuries etc.

Burakovski is still a bit inconsistent and streaky but is an up and coming player for sure, could very well turn out into a star player.

You have (still, but things will even up shortly) clearly more depth in your player material, so our abstentions absolutely hurt us badly while you could still get a very strong team.

I can't imagine any anti-Leaf bias coming out of Sweden. To the contrary, Leafs and Sweden have historically had a great relationship.

Wennberg? Arguably Sweden's #2 C right now isn't on Team A or B?

zetterberg is center.

landeskog instead of arvidsson?

wennberg, backlund, zibanejad, lindholm, johansson, Nyquist are all better than kruger, hörnqvist, hagelin.

Ekholm is eons better than A.Larsson.

Dahlin have no place on team 2, he is still too young, we have better players.

Like them both but World Cup players were more attractive to add here for the lower lines. Except Söderberg...
