No reason to give de la rose and päärjärvi a spot when they have stone hands. we have lots of better options than those two.

Oel - Hjalmrsson
Klefbom - Larsson
Gustavsson - Lindholm

Rakell - Zibanejad - Silfverberg
Landeskog - Pettersson - Nyquist
Bratt - Söderberg - Johansson
Fast - Kempe - Hagelin

They were good last year! Think Pääjärvi will be traded to a contender though since he seem to be the perfect fourth liner in NHL.

i think there is a chance it will be a dark year regarding nhlers...we will get alot of no thanks.

i wonder if grönborg will look at ahl, we have many good players there. A think a team with only swedish ahlers would beat a team with only swedish players from the leauges in euro.

grönborg should take a deep look at these players if we got many declines from nhl: V.Olofsson, Grundström, Lias, Sandin, Brännström, Rosen, A.Nylander, Aho, Dahlen, Borgman, Liljegren, Lagesson...

Those AHL'ers are not better than the top Swedish players in Europe.

Team will probably consist of close to 90% NHL players this year and in the near future.

I think you can absolutely make an argument for Olofsson, & Brännström over the top Swedish player in Europe. But other than that I'd have to agree.

Yes, you could but they are both very unproven at the international level. I don't think Olofsson would be very effective unless he gets top PP minutes.

Even if we could fill out the whole team with only nhlers the swedish coaches always will choose some euro players to have on the team.

Enroth/Lasse Johansson/Hellberg are good goalies. Even if we get no nhl-goalie the goaltending would still be decent.

Among D i think Bertilsson and Dahlbeck could be this years Wikstrand. But i would go with Erik Gustavsson from Luleå.

Emil Larsson, Lander, Josefson, Everberg should have a good shot. Hopefully Fagemo too. Too bad Engqvist is always injured, he is really good.

But let me guess, Joel Lundqvist will be on this team.

Well, with the TDL over, we can look at the teams that are pretty much given to miss the playoffs: Ottawa, Detroit, New Jersey, Rangers, Philadelphia, LA, Anaheim, & Florida.

Rakell - Zibanejad - Silfverberg
Bratt - Kempe - Fast
Lindblom - Lindberg - *
De La Rose - * - Pääjärvi

Lindholm - *
* - *
* - *

Nilsson
*
*

Are the NHLers from those teams I see getting invited. I'd like to leave 2F, & 1D roster spots open for SHLers.

why just shlers? we got good players in nla and khl aswell.

dont you think someone like lander is a better player than De la rose? i have a hard time seeing de la rose putting up the points in khl that lander is doing. lander have some grit aswell and good defence skills.

TDL changed some.

Possible team with current NHL-standings, a best case scenario:

Lundqvist
Nilsson
Markstrom

OEL - Hjalmarsson
Klefbom - Larsson
Dahlin - Lindholm

Rakell - Zibanejad - Pettersson
Landeskog - Söderberg - Silfverberg
Bratt - Lander - Fast
Lindblom - Lindberg - A.Kempe

There have been a few times when they have pick players that have mostly played in ahl. But it is rare, it is weird in one way, since ahl is a good league and have many intresting players. The reason i think 2. 1 They simple do not want to encourage players to leave shl for anything lesser than NHL really. 2 Since they play in ahl, they will not be tested in the national team during the season like the players from europe is, and players in ahl is rarely seen as they are so good so they are locks in the wc team just based on what they have done in ahl.

Hjalmarsson and Silfverberg are on contract years so I am guessing they won't be coming over.
Right now I cannot remember if we've gotten SWE players to come even though they are not signed, but I do remember that there have been some that avoid coming unless they have a contract for the upcoming season.
