This is bad for the Blackhawks even if you take out DeBrincat.
This is bad for the Hawks if you take out Debrincat, Dach and Murphy. Mrazek at a full cap hit and a future 1st might get you a 4-6th round pick back. I understand Mrazek has value as a Tank Commander but lets be alittle serious here.

"It may seem counterproductive for Toronto to be adding more than they’re shaving off of their payroll, by taking on DeBrincat, Murphy, and Dach. Meanwhile, Chicago acquiring two veterans in Mrázek and Muzzin doesn’t seem to support their rebuild. Yet, the complete picture matters.

To reiterate, this conversation is only being had if the Blackhawks agree to continue paying at least some of the salary they are trading away, in exchange for a package that includes the Maple Leafs’ first-round pick.

Simply stated, this is the type of trade that would immediately improve the Maple Leafs while helping the Blackhawks to pave a more positive path. It’s a win-win."

Holy ****, this guy is a ****ing idiot. :biglaugh:

Debrincat is going to bring Chicago a haul. top 10 pick in this years draft, young player, and prospect. Ottawa, Philly and New Jersey will all be bidding to grab him if he is available. He fits exactly what all three are trying to do this off season. This idiot is just trying to make a name for himself.

Best part is that you don't even have to come up with any arguments why this is an awful proposal, just copy paste stuff from that article. How the hell can he write this and still think it's a fair trade, and then add Chicago retaining some cap hit.

Easily one of the biggest names to be dropped within trade discussion thus far this offseason, Alex DeBrincat is an all-star who has already racked up multiple 41-goal campaigns in his first five years in the league and he’s still not even 25 years old. Safe to say, he’s among the NHL’s elite.
At only 21 years old, Dach still has lots of time to prove skeptics wrong. Taking this type of low-risk chance could turn into a move that propels Toronto even further ahead in its plan.
Not known for forcing his name onto the score sheet as often as his more offensively minded defensive partners, the impact he provides on the blue line is an valuable one. That said, he still chips in whenever he’s in a position to do so, having accumulated 71 points in five seasons as a Blackhawk.
vs.

It’s no secret that the Petr Mrázek experiment in Toronto hasn’t gone to plan. Signed to a three-year contract in July 2021, his cap hit of $3.8 million per suggested he was set to be the perfect starting partner alongside Jack Campbell. Unfortunately, that’s been far from Toronto’s reality thus far.
Carrying a price tag of $5.625 million for the next couple of campaigns, the Maple Leafs may have put themselves in a position where keeping Jake Muzzin around just isn’t as feasible as it once seemed.

I don’t think this article is written as a trade proposal but as a list of pieces that could be included if the two teams were to negotiate a trade.

That said, this is less a claim that these specific athletes are all currently linked together and more so an exploration of why these pieces are attractive to the other side.

This might actually be the worst proposal I've ever seen. And that's saying something.

That's a negative value package from Toronto for a young 40-goal scorer + a 21 y/o #3 overall pick playing in the NHL. And a solid defender.

And he wants Chicago to retain salary?
