They allow you to take photos of the players signing your items, but posing for photos isn't allowed because it eats up a lot of time. Moving people through the line quickly is priority so that folks can get stuff signed by more players.

ENHANCED SECURITY MEASURES SET TO START MARCH 4

Sharks Sports & Entertainment, in conjunction with the National Hockey League, announced that enhanced security measures will be put in place when entering SAP Center at San Jose for San Jose Sharks games beginning Tuesday March, 4 against the Carolina Hurricanes and continuing through the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Enhanced security measures at all SAP Center entrances will include guests being subject to search that will include the use of electronic devices, pat-downs and inspection of bags. Due to the nature of the process, fans should expect delays entering the building and plan accordingly by arriving at least 15 minutes earlier than normal. Fans are discouraged from bringing unnecessary items to Sharks games.

**So be sure to arrive early to avoid the delay and be the first to get your "SHARKS IN SOCHI" Commemorative Poster courtesy of TiVo (shown below)! Plus, the Olympic medals won by your Sharks will be on display for you to view during the game near the North Entrance!**

Individuals attending upcoming Sharks games should be aware of the following policies:

All guests are subject to metal detector screening, electronic wand screening and pat-down searches.
All bags are subject to search. Only small purses and baby bags will be permitted in SAP Center. Guests are encouraged to leave all unnecessary bags and other items at home or in their vehicle to expedite entrance to the building.
Expect delays entering SAP Center. To avoid lengthy delays, fans are encouraged to arrive at least 15 minutes earlier than normal.

These enhanced security measures are mandated by the National Hockey League and are in accordance with procedures already in place at NHL venues throughout the United States and Canada.

They've beefed up security the past few years, but usually it's closer to playoff time before the metal detectors come out. It sounds like the rest of the major sports leagues are doing the same too.

There is nothing official from the Sharks so no new thread...

It's on the schedule. Pollak hasn't posted a post-game blog to comment if they are or aren't.

(FWIW, the schedule has them with Monday as the next "day off")

Scheduled start time is 11; but players start coming out as early as 10:30.

End time... there's the "end of the scheduled practice" (which might be 30-45 minutes or more after start time) and there's the time "the last player gets off the ice" (which can be closer to 1pm).
