Blunden is a guy who has some experience. If we're in the hunt he's the kind of guy who will be called up if we need a 3rd/4th line fill in in the 2nd half of the season over guys like McCormick.

Some people are getting way too worked up about an ahl signing.

Not a big deal as it is the first time it ever happens :sarcasm:

yeah the blunden replacing chiasson thing is so dumb. Just say he's an AHL signing. Management is constantly trying spin garbage to the fanbase.

And you know I know someone is gonna be like "well what's he suppose to say to blunden? He thinks he's strictly an NHL guy?" Uh yeah. People would die to play in the AHL. I doubt blunden was a must have. Regardless of what Dorian night say. If blunden is offended. To get someone else. It's blunden

I meant to say strictly an AHL guy

AHL players receive offers from several teams as well. The hope to get a few games at the NHL level with a NHL salary is enticing. If the GM says you're 5th on the right wing depth chart, it means you have a chance with a few injuries. What's so special about this? Maybe he can't score at the NHL level but he is physical and good in the corners, which was a team weakness last season, and he won't hurt you defensively so if you play him on the 4th line a few games when many injuries occur

Actually, I just checked something. Best GA/60 by a good margin on the Lightning last season. Also best GF% :

20 games sample size with low TOI/G but nonetheless, if he plays a few games and stays efficient like that, then there is absolutely no problem
