Point progression:

2012/13: 18 (57GP)
2013/14: 55 (69GP)
2014/15: 76 (64GP)
2015/16: 107 (61GP)

Ya that is pretty impressive. So i guess he will play in the AHL at the start of next years and hopefully he improves even more and gets called up.

This guys stats look really good if he keeps that up at the AHL level he could become the Sens next Shane Prince!

Prince's OHL teammates: Toffoli, Monahan, Ceci
Perron's QMJHL teammates: Meier, Lauzon, Beaudin

A bit of a difference in teammate quality. Granted, we don't know how good Perron's teammates will be..but I doubt they match Prince's.

Prince was never the team's top scorer, or go to guy. Perron is leading the next closest scorer on his team by 30 points. Despite the draft pedigree differences, Perron looks like the better prospect.

Even though Perron was taken in the 7th round of the NHL draft, it's not like he didn't have any pedigree. He was drafted 6th overall in the QMJHL draft.

He could be playing at the Bob on Saturday. Rouyn has the team to win the championship and represent the Q at the memorial cup. Regardless, it's always good when one of your prospect gets useful playoff experience.

@Sentron5000

Hope you realize my comment was a roundabout jab at Cameron

I do now. LOL.

Either way, it was good to look at Prince as a comparison of what he could become. I would say based on stats (since I haven't seen much of him), he has a very good chance of being a better prospect than Prince.

That's... good? Right? Him do the goal score thing? :yo:

But in all seriousness, is he with the B-Sens next season, or does he stick in the Q for another year of growing?

Man, I love he fact that we've been reliably getting at least one NHL-caliber players with our 5-6-7 picks for years now.

2008: Mark Borowiecki (5th round)
2009: Mike Hoffman (5th round)
2010: Mark Stone (6th round)
2011: Fredrik Claessen (5th round), Ryan Dzingel (7th round)
2012: Mikael Wikstrand (7th round - I'm including him here, he's NHL caliber from a skill perspective)
2013: n/a
2014: Francis Perron (7th round)

I mean.. maybe Quentin Shore pans out, and we can claim someone for 2013 as well? Plus, if you ask me, Jaros and Daccord both have NHL potential, though it's far, far too early to tell if they'll realize it.

Damn good drafting going on. Dorion's got that late-round magic touch.

0% chance he stick in the Q as a 20. He literally won everything he could in the Q already.

He is Bingo bound 100%. I would be surprised if he doesn't get a cup of coffee next season as well.

I know 0 about projecting goalies, so Daccord is an unknown to me.

Jaros will be an NHL player, that I stake my non-existent reputation on. He is as close to a sure fire bottom pairing guy as you can get IMO.

I completely agree on jaros. He just screams NHL player to me every time I watch him play. Big, skates well and a hard shot. It would be nice if he came over to play in bingo next year to keep a closer eye on him.

I more willing to call 2012 and 2013 bust drafts for the backend of the rounds. From what i understand shore wont sign with the sens too. I think you have to be able to grab a player or two from the latter rounds to be a good organization these days. The sens in-particular have to be able to considering they cant compete for FAs like other clubs

I think that's fair, considering how the Wikstrand drama has played itself out. Also: I forgot that Shore was bailing on us, like a deusche.

Still though: 5 out of the past 7 years is fantastic for the back 3rd of the draft.

Apparently he prefers to spend next year in Sweden, and then re-assess in the 2017 offseason.

Don't get the negative reaction. Are we supposed to walk away from him? Not with those stats and progression. I say good signing. Lets see what the kid can do.
