Vikstrand with 2 goals through first 9 games for Frolunda so far.

Dunn with a bit of a slow start with 5 points, 3 goals in first 10 games.

I don't think wikstrand has any assists. Hopefully lack of output is because he's paying extra attention to taking care of the defensive zone.

Nick Paul had a natural hattrick today in a 4-1 win against Barrie.

That makes 6-6-3-9 for him thus far. Great start for the kid.

Ben Harpur with 1G, 1A and a +3 in a 5-6 loss against Kitchener.

So far he has a stat line of 6-2-4-6. Looks like he's taking that next step offensively.

And Tobias Lindberg had a goal today in a 7-1 win over the 67's to give him a 8-3-4-7 stat line to start his OHL career.

Ben Harpur is an intriguing player & a prospect to keep an eye on, I thought he had a pretty good rookie tournament & training camp. Especially considering the defence we have now with all it's problems on the left side & Phillips is likely on his last contract with two yrs to go.

Even if Paul regresses and maintains PPG this year, that's very impressive considering the way Brampton plays. This hot start is excellent news.

He currently leads the team in points, he's also their best defensive and all-around player with 6'4 frame. Hopefully this isn't just a hot start but sign of a great season to come, we could really use him down the road.

We could very well see Paul on Team Canads if he keeps this up, he'd be perfect for the 4th line. Harpur has a chance too if some D don't get sent back.

He's another intriguing prospect to keep an eye on, I assume he can play in Bingo next yr?

I hope so, it would certainly help his development to play against the best junior aged players in the world & be on Team Canada.

Looks like he might be learning the offensive side of the game. I think he was originally a forward, which I suspect is why he has been slow to step up the offensive game. That and the fact that he was not the big dog on D last year.

Yes he was a forward, when he got drafted by Guelph I believe he was a defenseman but was learning how to play it too cause of the switch. He has progressed over the last 3 years, he has really improved his skating and his offensive game .

I said this on the Vigo thread as well but dzingels second goal in the first game was nasty. Burns the defender and then pops the bottle. And then acts like he's done it a billion times before.

A couple of SDC assists in the recent CSKA-SKA battle (two best KHL teams): http://www.soccerstand.com/match/I71U2tX6/#video First one is a beauty slap pass.

Stephane slotting in the KHL scoring race between Kovalchuk and Radulov nicely:

Englund can't be judged based on stat sheets, like we could/did with Rundblad and Wikstrand. That would be more than pointless.

Stats mean nothing in European leagues with big ice.

Way too different of a game over there to make assumptions on a players talent level/potential by looking at the stat sheet.

:biglaugh: Gotta love how our defensive defenceman drafted in the second round not putting up a lot of points, along with NCAA freshman like Summers and Eiserman not scoring in their first 1 or 2 games, suddenly makes them appear to be "busts."

The only one I'm mildly concerned about is Gendron, as he's got only 2 points in 9 games now and was said to be an elite skater and more offensively oriented IIRC. Even then, new league, leaving high school, and in a new country, that can have an impact on a kid. And perhaps he's focusing on the defensive side of his game, or veterans are getting more minutes. We don't know.

But ya, "busts." Okay :sarcasm:

...or were you being sarcastic?
