I don't even think Porter's that terrible. He's just nothing special in any regard whatsoever, and isn't a guy who is part of this team's long-term plans. There's no reason to play him because it does nothing in terms of evaluating our prospects, but it's not like he's wholly incapable of playing like Adams or Glass. /shrug
My issue is that idiots regurgitate how much we need a "pk specialist" so Porter should be on the team regardless. The penguins (and hilariously the ducks) are in the top 10 for pk this year. I think that's the least of the team's worries right now.

This is the guy who immediately got injured last year? Right? From somebody who watches WBS regularly, what are his strengths and weaknesses?
He's a pretty versatile guy that can play up and down the lineup.
I'd say the jury is still out on how his offensive game is going to translate to the next level, that's the big question mark.
He's always had a bit of a physical edge to his game, taking hits as they came to him. This year he's playing with a chip on his shoulder, really going out of his way to lay out defensemen on the forecheck. It's gotten him into penalty trouble a couple of times, but I'm alright with that. I'd rather see a young player push the boundaries than play a bland, safe game.
I'm curious to see whether he brings that style to the NHL or if he plays a more cautious style to avoid mistakes.
How would you compare him to a younger Kunitz?
