Bettman would get his parity pretty quick if teams have to move large contracts to fit under the cap.

Also, can't see players not voting for the escalator. Half the team's would have to go with 20 or 21 players, buy out players, and not sign free agents. It will become a star/rookie league really quick. No middle of the pack, medium priced guys, 30-60 guys out of a job and vets retiring early.

I'm sure in a legal document as huge as the cba with billions of dollars on the line there are numerous clauses allowing for emergencies.
